The Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with our Chamber committees, tirelessly works to support Cheyenne's business community in order to create a stronger local economy. Read below to find out some of the exciting things that are going on in Cheyenne this week!

The Chamber is Ready For Frontier Days!

The Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce is preparing for Frontier Days by planning our annual 'Pardners In Prosperity' Luncheon which will be held on July 22nd at 11:30 a.m. at the Buckin' A Saloon in Frontier Park. This will be the first chance for the public to view the Cheyenne Frontier Days Midway so be sure that you don't miss out! Click here to register for the Pardners in Prosperity Luncheon. The Chamber will also be hosting receptions at the Governor's Residence to welcome two visiting generals. The first one will be on Friday, July 22nd for General Norton A. Schwartz, Chief of Staff for the United States Air Force, and the second on July 29th for General Duncan J. McNabb, Commander, United States Transportation Command, Scott Air Force Base, IL. Please call the Chamber of Commerce or visit our website for more information on any of these events. *Please be aware that the receptions at the Governor's Residence are by invitation only.

F.E. Warren Gets $1.8 Million to Build a New K-9 Security Forces Kennel 

The Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce Wyoming Wranglers Committee would like to congratulate F.E. Warren Air Force Base. The base is receiving a much needed $1.8 million to rebuild their K-9 Security Forces Kennels. The United States Air Force handles the Department of Defense Military working dog program which means that the working dogs from other services; Army, Navy, and Marine Corps have been through the Air Force Dog Handler Team program. These dogs are a key component of our military forces and are used on many different types of missions including bomb sniffing and drug interdiction.

The Chamber's Action and Advocacy Committee Announces Their 2012 Legislative Agenda

The Action and Advocacy Committee of the Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that their 2012 Legislative Agenda will continue to have a strong focus on lowering taxes. This committee's work to lower taxes is an extremely important component of Wyoming's continued strong business climate in such tight economic times.

F.E. Warren Welcomes Col. Christopher A. Coffelt to the 90th Missile Wing 

F.E. Warren Air Force Base and the 90th Missile Wing bid farewell to Col. Gregory S.Tims, 90th Missile Wing Commander, during his retirement ceremony at the base theater on June 29th, and at his change-of-command ceremony on the Argonne parade field on June 30th. Col. Christopher A. Coffelt will be the new incoming commander of the 90th Missile Wing and comes to us from Minot Air Force Base in North Dakota.

Col. Stephen E. Rader Takes the Reigns of the 153rd Air Lift Wing for Cheyenne's Air National Guard
Col. Stephen E. Rader accepted the position of Commander of the 153rd Airlift Wing during a change of command ceremony on Saturday morning at the Nose Dock on Cheyenne's Air National Guard Base. Col. Rader has been serving as the Vice Commander of the 153rd Air Lift Wing since May 2009. Col. Dennis D. Grunstad is the outgoing Commander and he will continue to support Cheyenne's Air Guard in another capacity.

The Cheyenne Chamber Says Thank You to Our Total Resource Campaign Volunteers!

The Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce would like to thank and congratulate the volunteers from our Total Resource Campaign (TRC). This year, they have raised over $320,000 which is almost 130% of our goal of $250,000! The Total Resource Campaign is a program that has proven to dramatically increase revenues, grow membership, and develop organizational leadership. Our members benefit from increased business and community awareness and the community benefits from the accelerated growth created by successful, well-funded programs.

The Chamber Bids a Fond Farewell to Our Vice President Laurie Farkas
Dale Steenbergen, President and CEO of The Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce, would like to regretfully announce the receipt of our Vice President, Laurie Farkas' resignation. Laurie will be greatly missed. She will still continue to work from home on the Chamber monthly newsletter. Kathy Steil has been promoted and will be our new Vice President. Kathy has been working at the Chamber for more than a year in the position of Director of Special Projects. She will still continue to work on many of her event responsibilities while taking on the new role.
The Red Carpet Committee Hosts Red Carpet Openings for Prarie Rose, WYO Office Barista, and Peak Motor Sports

The Red Carpet Committee of the Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce hosted a Red Carpet Opening for Prarie Rose on June 30th and one for WYO Office Barista on July 7th.

Prarie Rose is a Floral Shop located on Carey Avenue in Cheyenne. They are family owned and operated and are well known for their beautiful European style arrangements. They will deliver anywhere in Cheyenne or nationwide.

The Chamber Hosts A Successful Business Before Hours at Pizzazz
The Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce hosted another busy Business Before Hours last Thursday at Pizzaz Floral & Garden Centre. Pizzazz is located at 3521 East Lincolnway in Cheyenne and is a one stop shop for all of your gardening and floral needs. Stop in anytime and let them show you how to put some "Pizzazz" in your summer!
