 ACHIEVING SUCCESS TIPS

Post-Injury Response Procedures

Adapt a post-injury response procedure reflecting what happens after an injury. Procedures should list steps each participant must take at the time of a work-related injury - and the first first 24 hours after the injury.

Implement a communication program to: Tell workers about transitional duty policy, your transitional duty job bank, which medical providers to see, how to make sure their benefits are paid timely, and they can be reimbursed for mileage to medical providers.

The more you communicate with workers, the fewer litigated claims there will be. The #1 reason employees get an attorney is because they do not know what is happening with their claim. Avoid this by keeping your employees informed. During Weekly Meetings you can provide the status of their claim.
