Speed Cleaning  Rule #9: Repetition makes for smoother moves.

 

After reading that rule, I wish this is true when it comes to my dance moves. But then again, we're talking about Speed Cleaning here! Make sure to always put your tools back in the same spot in your apron. Don't waste your time fumbling around to find them. You also can't afford to just leave them lying around in places where the dog can reach them and carry them away. Once you become an expert in Speed cleaning, you will become aggravated if the tool is not in the spot you expected it to be when you reach for it. That's called progress!

  

We are definitely serious about this rule. Let me show you what this means. For example, you are cleaning the kitchen. Here's how to get dressed for cleaning the kitchen. Tie your apron tightly around your waist. Make sure that the toothbrush and other tools are in their right pockets. Hang the Blue and Red Juice by their handles on your apron loops on the right side. By this we mean if you put the Blue Juice on the left side, always put it on the left side. This way, you will be able to reach your Red or Blue Juice without stopping to see which is which. And this can definitely save you time. Just a note here: the tops of the spray bottles have this tendency to come loose and when they do, it's a catastrophe. Automatically tighten the tops when you first pick them up so that you will not accidentally spill the contents everywhere. Your feather duster goes to your back pocket. Your whisk broom goes to your other back pocket. Use your whisk broom to brush dirt off the vents, corners and away from appliances and walls, those that the vacuum can't reach. Have an estimate of the number of cleaning cloths you will need and transfer them from the tray to your apron. At first, just grab eight to ten cloths. But as time goes on, you will know how many to use. Finally, check what you and your fully loaded apron look like and you are ready to move on!
