High Energy Six Sensory Personal Training with Michelle McDonald:

February 3rd started the Chinese New Year for 2011 and I just got my newsletter from Lee Ann Bishop,  I get my favorite magic bath salts from her store www.mamacreepy.com.  Her friend Donna Stellhorn, a renowned lecturer and consultant on the ancient practice of Feng Shui, and as a respected astrologer wrote her insights on the 2011 Chinese New Year and I wanted to share them with you.

2011: Year of the White Rabbit by Donna Stellhorn

 After a year of the Tiger jumping out at us at any moment bringing job losses, market ups and downs, and an economy dipping in and out of danger we enter a place of calm. We've been trying to outrun a Tiger.  And then ,what pops out of the bushes on February 3rd, 2011 as our protector; a little, white, fluffy Rabbit.  The little peacemaker.  It is said that the Tiger conquers by force and Rabbit does it by diplomacy.  And now we have a year to catch our breath before the Dragon wakes in 2012.  Imagine that between two of the most powerful forces in the Chinese Zodiac, the Tiger and the Dragon, stands a little Rabbit keeping them in balance.  Don't let that soft, white fur and those big brown eyes fool you.  Clever Rabbit uses his gentle, persuasive words to sooth the Universe into rest and relaxation.  He is the diplomat, weaving plans together so the other animals drop their fighting stance and start working together.  We are in the eye of the storm, where nothing moves, no wind, just calm.  

Our Rabbit this year is white representing a Metal year.  Rabbits are happiest with the Wood element like having a tree to hide behind.  Metal and Wood are in conflict, Metal is an axe that can chop down the tree.  So this year the Rabbit feels the pressure of being hunted. 2011 is Wabbit Season! So he is more determined and focused than in other Rabbit years.  We will see people either using their words and cleverness to talk their way out of situations or they will find an escape in shopping, fantasy games and romantic movies and try to avoid reality all together. But Metal gives Rabbits more strength, resilience and determination. Metal Rabbit years cause us to be more intense in actions, whether they are work-related or romantic.

Rat:

Love: Many single Rats may be not thinking about romance this year, they are too busy doing other things.  Of course this is when romance is most likely to pop up.  So keep doing what you are doing but be open to coffee or lunch when you are asked. For those of you in established relationships, you may think your partner is taking you for granted but they still may be a very good partner in many ways.  Find what you love about that person and let them know.  If you can't find good things to say to them it may be time to rethink the relationship. 

Money: Time to be careful with money. It is good to be thrifty this year in most areas. Look at what you can reuse or pick up second hand.  But choose one area to indulge in whether it be a new computer, a few fine wines or a special trip and save the money where you can so you can indulge without guilt (and without racking up debt).  This is not a year to rush big purchases.  Take your time, shop around and curb impulse spending.  

Magical Action: Put a picture of Quan Yin in the bedroom to attract a wonderful love relationship.  Burn Money Candles on the New Moons in May, June and July to protect and increase your money.  

 Ox:

Love: If you are in an existing relationship it has a good change of growing stronger.  You will see more eye to eye and have better communications.  And if you are looking for love you will have much more success than you had in the Tiger year.  There are opportunities for love in unlikely places so consider all invitations.  In groups put yourself forward and introduce yourself to people you want to know and good things will blossom. 

Money: You need to watch investments or there will be some losses.  And actively collect debts owed to you.  Be watchful when making large purchases that you are not bullied into something you don't really want.  If it seems like you are getting an exceptionally good deal it may turn out to not be a good deal at all.  While you are always careful with money, this year is a good time to be watchful. More money will be coming to you soon but stay on budget and try to keep from incurring debt.  Others may want to borrow money or have you co-sign but this year it's not a good idea to get involved in any lending arrangements that are not backed up by a very strong contract. 

Magical Action: Get a Tibetan brass bowl to both create harmony in the house and bring in abundance.  Play the bowl as part of a celebration on the Spring and Fall Equinox.  Hang a picture of a lotus flower in the hallway between your living room and your bedroom to bring happiness to the entire family. 

Tiger:

Love: Love is possible even probably this year.  If you started a romance last year it will grow deeper and more intense.  And there are opportunities to increase your number of friends to bring the unattached Tiger love and romance.  Quite a few Tigers will settle down this year, moving in together or getting engaged. 

Money: Income and investments will improve this year however it will still be important to keep the shopping to a minimum.  Plan your purchases or you will acquire a lot of stuff that ends up in the donation box before the year ends. 

Magical Action: Take cleansing baths using lavender or peace water on the Full Moon at least four times in 2011.  This will remove any negative energy or blocks and help you move forward with ease.  Display a wand made of wood in the Southwest corner of the house to draw money to you. 

Rabbit:

Love: Rabbits that are in a relationship will have it continue in a steady manner.  Your partner will be your mirror this year and so things you like are the good qualities that you have yourself and things that bother are issues you have.  Take a look at this mirror and make changes in yourself and your partner will magically change.  Single Rabbits will meet many choices for love, make yourself available for coffee or lunch. If you haven't had much luck with online dating services consider having an expert help you rewrite your profile or take better pictures. 

Money: There is also possible financial success based on what the Rabbit can put into place this year.  Positive financial energy is strong and you might receive a gift or win some money.  Your luck in contest or games that require some skill is strongest of all. It is wise to apply any windfalls to debts first and then on the fun stuff. 

Magical Action: Hang a wealth bell outside by your front door to bring in money from many sources.  Perform a "road opener" ritual to remove any obstacles,  known or unknown. 

Dragon:

Love: Dragons do well socially when they are seen in the same places over a period of time.  And romance will come through a friend or connection in one of these places.  If you have been waiting a long time for romance then it's would be a good idea to seek out some professional help in the form of a matchmaker or a wise relative.  They will help you find a good match.  For those in a relationship this will be a year of contentment and understanding. 

Money: Investments proceed growing moderately and some wealth accumulation is possible.  It's a year of prudent spending and you are wise to wait for the best deal.  You have a fine eye this year and purchasing quality products will serve you well in the future but take care not to overspend. 

Magical Action: Use a money drawing floor wash on your kitchen floor to bring money to the household.  Use it on the New Moon in March, June, September and December.  Display a picture of aunicorn in your family room to bring happiness to the family. 

 Snake:

Love: This is a favorable year for love especially a love that blooms from a friendship.  This year try to live the qualities of the person you want to be with.  If you want a truthful partner then be truthful.  If you want a fun and interesting partner then go get some really interesting hobbies.  And mostly go out and make friends because the new love is amongst them.  For those Snakes in an existing relationship things are easier this year; there is more harmony and good communication, even the arguments turn into interesting discussions.   

Money: Money comes easily this year but it can also go just as easily so make sure money coming in is applied to where you want before it disappears on impulse.  Take some time this year and look at your net worth.  Find where money is leaking out and plug up those holes.  Be prudent and make sure you have an emergency fund in place and avoid incurring any new debt.  You will feel this year was very successful if you are able to pay off some of the debts from the last few years. 

Magical Action: Smudge the house using sage or sage with lavender on the eclipses to protect your health, June 1st and 15th, July 1st, November 25th and December 10th .  Place an athame or knife hidden in the center of the house to protect what you value from thieves. 

Horse:

Love: Romantically speaking, this year you may not settle for just okay.  Relationships that won't lead to happiness will be dropped.  You will find yourself with suitors but you'll be picky.  Some Horses will feel like love is too hard this year and want to just stick to being friends and but other horses will take a hard look at their past results and make changes that bring true love.  While your romantic life may be bumpy this is a happy and fulfilling year for horses as they are laying the groundwork this year for wonderful things in the future. 

Money: Horses come out ahead this year especially when it comes to money, gambling and investments.  Borrow money with care and looking closely at your current finances before signing anything.  Your income will increase this year but not by so much that you should take on a lot of extra debt.  You may even want to get into the habit of spending cash rather than using a card just to keep any impulse spending in check. 

Magical Action: Place a handful of small Black Onyx stones in the North part of the house to protect you from legal troubles.  Burn love incense in the bedroom to attract romance into your life.

 Ram or Goat:

Love: As you are more welcoming and open you may find that even if you are already in a relationship you are attracting all kinds of attention.  This year you are popular.  You will find personal happiness and fulfillment of your wishes in the area of relationships so dust off your vision board or wish list and reacquaint yourself with what you want in a partner.  There will be lots of prospects so keep in mind the qualities that you want. 

Money: This is a quiet year for Ram as he has some moderate gains in business and money matters.  The prices are lower and you can get a good deal.  But trust your instincts and don't let the hucksters talk you into a short sale or repo if you aren't clear about the condition of the item or property. 

Magical Action: Bless the house by hanging prayer flags in the house or yard.  This will help create a sacred space at home.  Put a drop of Dragon's Blood oil on cotton balls and put them in your favorite rooms in the house.  Add more oil on the next three New Moons.  This will give you lots of power and money opportunities. 

Monkey:

Love: For dating this is a year to be selective.  Date new people a few times and then evaluate whether this will have a truly happy outcome before going further.  Monkeys already in relationships will find the relationships getting stronger and there will be less arguments as you have an easier time of seeing each other's points of view. 

Money: There are some money gains but only modest ones.  This year Monkeys have some opportunities for some great deals on higher ticket items whether they are finding them at garage sales, on Craig's list or buying them from friends.  Monkeys need to take a look at investments and if you don't know about investments consider taking a class.  Income does show an increase but what's the point if you just spend it before the month is done.  Maximize contributions to retirement accounts if possible.  As you put more money in investments more money will come. 

Magical Action: Put a box made of stone, like soapstone, in the Northwest corner of the house and inside put three leaves from a tree, three $1 dollar bills and three wishes.  You can add leaves and wishes on the Full Moon.  Hang a picture or tapestry of a dragon or lion in your home office to bring you career success. 

 Rooster:

Love: This year you need to cautious about the new connections you are making.  If someone's words don't match their actions beware that they may not be a good friend or a good partner for you.  If you feel very tired after seeing some people or if some seem to just talk about themselves with no cares about you then consider seeing them less this year.  New love is possible but don't settle for less than what you want.  If Rooster is in an existing relationship try to be patient with each other, don't nitpick. 

Money: Investments need to be reviewed and if necessary you may want to change brokers or brokerage companies.  Invest in safe, stable investments and avoid any risky schemes.  Look to save money and watch the pennies or your dollars will disappear.  It is also important this year to stay on budget.  Consider going to cash and using the envelope system.  Avoid unplanned purchases and review your spending each month.  Have a some set aside for emergencies like a water heater leak or a tire going flat and if the emergency doesn't come you will have money at the end of the year for a nice party. 

Magical Action: Get a ritual kit for changing bad luck to good.  Do this ritual on a New Moon.  Wear a dragon or fairy pendantespecially on Full Moons. 

Dog:

Love: Romance will come and blossom into something more than just a friendship.  This is the year you could settle down, marry and set up house together.  You should take advantage of every social opportunity you can to maximize the number of people you meet.  Dogs already in relationships will find lots of happiness with their partner and feel a rekindling of the kind of romance they had in the beginning.

Money: This year Dogs show several sources of income. This could be through investments, a hobby or a family member who starts contributing.  But budgeting is still important and Dogs should review commitments they made last year to see if the expense is still worth it.  Be prudent with money and you will have a nice sum at the end of the year. 

Magical Action: Add a large wood object like a wood beaded curtain to the bedroom to promote pregnancy.  Carry a health Buddha or wear an Angel pendant to protect your health. 

Pig or Boar:

Love: There are opportunities for lots of social events and new love.  There is increased love and prospects of better communication with a current partner but for those looking for new love don't settle for someone who doesn't treat you well.  You have more than one prospect out there. 

Money: Finances look good this year with an increase in income and investments that are paying off.  You will be tempted to do some celebratory spending but it would be better this year for you to pay down debt and pad the retirement savings.  Look at your taxes too and see if there are some deductions you have missed even if you need to go back and amend some previous years. 

Magical Action: Burn white, green or gold candles in brass candle holders often to bring money and prosperity.  Place the Eye of Hours in your window if you become involved in a legal matter to aid in your protection.

I know I will be hanging up my Wealth Bell as soon as it arrives. (smile)
