The Mind-Body-Soul Connection
Michelle McDonald Mind Body Fitness and Wellness Specialist MsVPT@aol.com
602-999-3169
Did you know that your body is an expression of your soul, the inner you? And that your body speaks out to get your attention when you are out of balance, or when you need to deal with an issue. Did you know that within you is a higher intelligence, a higher self, that knows how to heal your body...if you give it a chance. Do you believe that everything happens for a reason; even though we may not know what that reason is at that particular moment? Did you know that you use only 10% of your brain(mind)? What could you achieve if you believed you could tap into that other 90%? You are an amazing being, take the time to get to know "you". Awareness is the key. The better you know your "self" the faster you can create change. But you must be truly honest with yourself. No more lying, no more head games, just brutal honesty, and that will take some courage. The happiness, harmony, calmness, and connectedness felt will be well worth any blood, sweat, and tears along the way. To get overall wellness you must recognize, detoxify, exercise, take care of, and love each of these three parts of you; the mind, the body, and the soul-to create a happy, healthy, whole, you. So, you have been eating better and exercising. Good for you! That is a step in the right direction. Now, when you look at yourself in the mirror are you thinking...I love myself? You should be. Even if you are still in the process of change, you must recognize and praise all of your small successes. Love is the miracle cure. Loving yourself will work miracles in your life! This is not vanity, loving yourself. If you are thinking like that--that is fear speaking. Here...take a look at a list Louise Hay has in her book You Can Heal Your Life. These are some ways we don't love ourselves: We scold and criticize ourselves endlessly. We mistreat our bodies with food, alcohol, and drugs. We choose to believe we are unlovable. We are afraid to charge a decent price for our services. We create illness and pain in our bodies. We procrastinate on things that would benefit us. We live in chaos and disorder. We create debt and burden. We attract lovers and mates who belittle us. What are some of your ways? I want you to open your mind and begin to listen to what your body is saying to you. Then, I would like you to feed your soul. And here is how you can do that. There is a book that I have used for years with all my clients. It is a must to have on your desk, or in your library. It is called Heal Your Body by Louise Hay. It costs under $10 dollars and it is a great investment toward your overall wellness. The book will tell you the mental causes for physical illness and the metaphysical way to overcome them, by saying affirmations. Let me just list a few examples: Let's say you are having sinus problems. The cause may be irritation to one person, someone close. The affirmation to say (with intention) is I declare peace and harmony indwell me and surround me at all times. All is well. Allergies. Cause: Who are you allergic to? Denying your own power. Affirmation: The world is safe and friendly. I am safe. I am at peace with life. Foot problems. Cause: Fear of the future and not stepping forward in life. Affirmation: I move forward in life with joy and with ease. "We are spirits learning how to live in a body given by Mother Earth. That's why we are here, to learn to live in a body and to bring the whole of our- self - body, mind, emotions and spirit - into harmony and balance with All-That-Is. We are not in a body to get out of it and escape by becoming 'spiritual' or 'religious' - we are already spirits. We are here to learn how to be in a body - our vehicle-of-experience - and to bring matter and spirit together in harmony." Leo Rutherford |
