Mercury retrograde happens three or four times a year and lasts just over three weeks. The planet slows down as it spins orbiting the sun and therefore looks as if it is going backwards. For those of you not familiar with astrology, Mercury rules the conscious, logical mind. So when Mercury retrograde happens our minds move 'backwards', in a reflective mode. What does that mean? Confusion, we change our mind-then we change it back to make it right again. There becomes emotionally charged miscommunications with others. Appointments are forgotten, changed and changed back. For those unaware of the cause of all this mishap it can be quite frustrating. For those of us who know it is the "glitches" of the universe, we try to laugh it off. It is during this time that it is best not to do repairs because either the process or job ends up having to be repeated. In the physical world certain things seem to go haywire like: computers, phones, printing, and all fields that have to do with transportation or communication. So during the Mercury retrograde do not make future life decisions based on things you see or hear during this time. Do not go to the dentist, doctor, or car repair place. And do not force anyone to make a decision right now. Now is a great time for you to take time for yourself, meditate, reflect, journal, and pray. It is a time for you to take a look at what you want, how you think, and get to know yourself better. This is the perfect time to complete projects that have been started and are already in motion. And be sure to call to confirm all appointments. Towards the end of the cycle people are so stress. Now that you have the inside scoop you can use your sense of humor to soften the blow of all the crazy miscommunication and scattered energy that will be filling the air. |

Can You Out-Train A Bad Diet? By Denise Baker
A few months back I watched a hilarious video that hammered home an invaluable nutrition lesson. A popular fitness expert and his buddy get together and are perform a demonstration of the saying
"You Can't Out Train A Bad Diet!"
Here's what happens. The two men have a Pizza VS Cardio contest! One of them jumps on a treadmill and cranks it up to the absolute maximum speed with a slight incline (without falling off) and starts sprinting. Busting his butt at 11.0 MPH, killing himself to lose fat, his buddy is standing beside him consuming a box of pizza. After about 3 minutes, one has consumed 800 calories (half a pizza) and the other has burned only 42 calories running at maximum speed! LOL!
Moral of the story - you CAN NOT out train a bad diet if you want to... Lose unwanted fat, Build muscle, transform yourself from weak and flabby to lean and powerful, have endless energy and become healthier than ever.....the answer is a healthy eating plan and a training program tailored to meet your specific goals.

Breakfast Preparation Suggestions: 4 Egg whites 3 oz Chicken breast, deli style 1 cup Celery 1 Tomato 1 cup Onions 3 1/2 cups Spinach 1 1/3 tsp Olive or monounsaturated oil Chicken Omelets Sauté vegetables until softened, stir in egg whites and diced chicken. Cook until set with seasoning of your choice.
Mid Meal Preparation Suggestions: 1 cup Grapes 4 oz Tuna, canned in water 1 cup Tomatoes 1 cup Celery 1 cup Cucumber 1 Pepper (bell or cubanelle) 18 Peanuts 1/3 tsp Olive or monounsaturated oil 364 Calories Tuna and Vegetable Salad Roughly chop the vegetables and mix with olive oil, a dash of balsamic vinegar and salt, pepper and thyme. Put the tuna on top (dashing with a little lemon juice if you want) and start eating! Enjoy the fruit for dessert.
Snack Preparation Suggestions: 14 grams Protein powder 1/2 Orange 1 cup Raspberries 1/3 tsp Olive or monounsaturated oil 6 Peanuts 182 Calories Protein Shake with Fruit Blend all ingredients together, except nuts, and add ice cubes until desired consistency is reached. If a blender is not available mix protein powder with cold water and have remaining ingredients on the side. Nuts on the side. Dinner Preparation Suggestions: 2 Peppers (bell) 3 cups Lettuce, romaine 1/2 cup Onions 2 1/2 cups Tomatoes 2/3 tsp Olive or monounsaturated oil 6 Olives 4 oz Turkey breast, skinless 364 Calories Turkey Breast with Greek Salad Cook turkey and mix remaining ingredients together in a large bowl. Crushing the garlic and mixing it in with the vinegar, olive oil and some salt and pepper makes a great dressing
Snack Preparation Suggestions: 3 oz Cheese, low or non fat 1 1/2 Apples 18 Peanuts 273 Calories Cheese, Apples & Peanuts A quick snack to keep you going through the day!
