What's New At Sojos?

A recent issue of Pet Business Magazine featured an interview with Sojos co-owner Maggie Johnson regarding the growing number of consumers "going all-natural" for their pets, and what makes Sojos unique. Maggie reminded readers that we were the first pre-mix available in the pet food industry, offering the "superior health you get from raw food, along with the convenience of a kibble". Maggie described Sojos customers as "passionate, educated and health-conscious. They take more ownership of their own health and that of their family members; which includes their pets!" This feature also included our newest products, SOJOS COMPLETE BEEF and BIG DOG TREATS. To read the entire interview, click here and read page 162!

Sojos Pet of the Month

This month's Pet of the Month is Izzie the Norfolk Terrier.  Her owner, Karen, says that Izzie "has never eaten anything but Sojos and has thrived".  Izzie started eating the Sojos Grain-Free Fruit & Veggie mix when she was a puppy.  Since that time her owner Karen has switched to rotating between the Sojos Complete lines (Turkey and Beef) because of the convenience of having everything in the bag ready to go!  Izzie's mom Karen loves how healthy Izzie is and says " isn't it amazing when you give a dog 'real' food, how much they like it and how good it is for them"!
Since 1985

Most people are surprised to find out that we've been in business since 1985. That's right, we're in our 26th year of business! We were the first pre-mix on the market way back in 1985. Since day one we've remained a small, family-run company. We started with Sojos Original (which used to be called European Style Dog Food) and grew the line to include our Grain-Free Fruit & Veggie mix. As more and more consumers learned about the benefits of feeding simple, fresh raw foods to their pets we added our Complete Turkey and Complete Beef for those who want to feed raw, but want the convenience of having everything right in the bag. We still make all of our foods and bake all of our treats daily, right here in our own facility in Minneapolis, MN. Over the years we've seen many companies join us in offering fresh, natural foods, and we're happy to see more and more people joining the movement!

Sojos Q & A

Q: Why do we add broccoli to our foods, and what health benefits does it provide?

A: Broccoli is a tasty, green, cancer-fighting machine that can't be beat! It has two times the amount of Vitamin C as an orange and almost as much calcium as whole milk. It's a source of protein and potassium, fiber and folic acid, Vitamins K, A, B6 and E. This little veggie has it all - and is low in calories, too! Following its nutrient power punch, broccoli deals a heavy blow to carcinogens. Broccoli is rich in a number cancer fighting compounds. These stimulate detoxification enzymes, which help to neutralize cancer causing agents and can even target cells that slow tumor growth!

Sojos Q & A

"I just wanted to take a moment and THANK YOU so much for making a huge, wonderful change in our dogs life! We started using your product 2 months ago and can't believe the change in our dog. Mocha is a 12 ½ year old Pitbull that was given to us a year ago and was very over weight. She was left with a large bowl of dry food to graze on throughout the day - she didn't always eat it but it was there if she wanted it and was given lots of table scrapes from the little 2 year olds and her owner that she lived with at the time. When we first got her she was always struggling to get up because of her arthritis (she was on Deramax), she slept a lot and just had no energy. We put her on a schedule and fed her once a day - at lunch time because she didn't want to get up and come and eat and eventually started having the runs. So a friend of mine told me about Sojos and we tried it and Mocha loves it! She is now eating once in the morning (and gets up when we get up in the morning) and once at night. She is off the arthritis medicine and has lost weight and just has so much more energy - she is wagging her tail all the time now - she is so happy! THANK YOU for giving our dog a longer life!"
