As you may have heard, we're in the process of making a new home for ourselves on Facebook.  Logistically speaking, this means that if you're fans of us now, we're asking you to re-"like" us on our new page (click here to see our new facebook page).  This new page will be our permanent home, and will feature you and your pets!  We've made this change because our new page will allow us to interact with you more and offer you more!  We'll be asking you to submit photos and stories for our new "pet of the month" section, not to mention contests and deals just for fans.
Clean & Healthy Teeth

Clean, healthy teeth are essential to your dog's overall health.  Periodontal disease is not only painful, but also a catalyst for other significant health concerns including cardiovascular, respiratory, and kidney disease. There are many myths that circulate about how and what keeps dog's teeth clean. The biggest misconception is that crunchy dog food (kibble) rubs against a dog's teeth and "cleans" the plaque away.  This logic works in the same way that eating a piece of toast or a cookie before bed would work for human teeth.  Traditional methods also require that dogs go under general anesthesia when plaque has built up to excessive levels.  This is not only invasive, but dangerous.  In reality, a diet rich in live enzymes is necessary to keep your dog's teeth clean.  Raw meat is rich in live enzymes.  Enzymes are, at their core, proteins that control chemical reactions.  The live enzymes in raw meat start the chemical process that naturally breaks down plaque build-up on teeth, keeping dogs' mouths healthy.

Sojos Q & A

Q: Bone meal.  What is it, and do I need to add it to Sojos?

A:Bone meal is ground and crushed bone.  The bones are dried, crushed and ground to create a calcium rich meal (powder).  However, you do not need to add it to any Sojos mix, because bone meal is not the only form of healthy calcium available.  We have taken the guess-work out of feeding raw for you.  We add tricalcium phosphate to our mixes instead of bone meal for three reasons; tricalcium phosphate is easily absorbable and thus used properly by dog's systems, the mixture we add is formulated to have the correct ratio of calcium to phosphorus (since phosphorus is needed for calcium to be properly absorbed into the blood stream this is very important) and finally because some bone meals have been found to be high in levels of toxic metals.   Rest assured your dog is getting the proper amount of calcium and phosphorus they need!  If however you'd like to give your dog a raw, meaty bone to gnaw on - go right ahead!  Raw meaty bones are healthy treats and satisfy the dogs need to chew!

Sojos Q & A

"We just wanted to say thank you for making excellent products. My two border collies, Outlaw Josey Wales and Cool Hand Luke, enjoy Sojos Grain-Free and Sojos Complete. I like to purchase the two pound bags of Sojos because the size suits my variety & rotation feeding method. The chunky texture of Sojos (hydrated) is also preferable, more substantial than your competitors. Keep up the good work!"
