Your help is needed now!  Please urge your Senators and Representatives to become co-sponsors of Coordinated Environmental Public Health Network Act of 2007(HR 3643/ S.2082).

This bill would authorize the expansion of the Environmental Health Tracking Network. This network will provide valuable information to health officials and communities for use in monitoring where and when chronic diseases occur and assess potential links to environmental hazards. For a sample letter and more information, log onto NACCHO's Public Health Advocacy page.

Partnerships for Environmental Public Health (PEPH)
The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) is developing a "Partnerships for Environmental Public Health" (PEPH) program, that will support activities to prevent, reduce, or eliminate environmental exposures that may lead to adverse health outcomes.

NIEHS is seeking input from those who have an interest in the effects of environmental exposures on public health to help shape and promote the PEPH program. Individuals are encouraged to answer a series of questions that will help map out a 5-10 year plan.

The complete list of questions and additional information can be found on the NIEHS Web page. Please e-mail your responses to Liam O'Fallon at ofallon@niehs.nih.govno later than January 19, 2008
