The Career Ministry of Mt. Bethel UMC will meet on Tuesday, October 9, at the Mt. Bethel Community Center (4608 Lower Roswell Road, Marietta, GA 30068). Resume reviews begin at 6:30pm with the Presentation at 7:30pm. The topic for the evening is How to Interview & Negotiate Pay. Most job seekers find dealing with pay issues to be one of the most challenging components of their job search. How do you address the dreaded questions "what is your current pay" and "what pay do you expect"? Compensation is perceived by most employees and job seekers as a "black box" because compensation management principles, systems, and rates of pay are not openly communicated to either employees or job seekers. This session will focus on preparing you to answer the two dreaded questions as well as open up the "black box" to provide you with the inside information that you need to be prepared to manage all aspects of the pay component of your job search. But before you discuss pay with a prospective employer, it is essential that you prepare for the interview and interview well. During our session we will also review interviewing best practices, resources that can help increase your chances of success, and finally techniques that improve the quality of your phone, video, and in person interviewing.
