Our Joys & Concerns

The rosebud on the altar is in honor of the birth of Virginia Laine Weis, daughter of Mike & Tamara Weis, on September 25, 2012.

The altar flowers are given to the Glory of God and in honor of the baptism of our granddaughter, Reagan Marie Spitzer, given by Wayne & Marie Wills.

The Paschal Candle burns in honor of the baptisms of Madison Ashby Bichsel & Logan Chris Bichsel, daughter & son of Christopher & Amy Bichsel; Elise Grace Byrd, daughter of Jon & Tabitha Byrd; Reid Daniel Palestrini, son of James & Allison Palestrini; and Ryan Kamal Rashidi, son of Kaveh & Laurie Rashidi.

We extend Christian sympathy to Connor, Martha, Cal & Drew Bryan in the loss of Connor's mother, Charlotte Bryan; and to Bill & Susan Ziegler in the loss of Susan's brother, Jim Grzywinski. May God hold you in the palm of His hand during this time of grief.

Recently hospitalized: Camille Auci, June Boullain, Stuart Lance, Marge Schuck

We wish to congratulate Kristin Seiloff & Hank Windhorst who were married in our Sanctuary on September 22, 2012 by Rev. Carey Akin.

What is the Work Day Offering? It's the offering that every church in North Georgia gives to our ministry once a year. The Work Day concept was started in the early 1900s with the suggestion to donate one day's salary and "work a day" for the children. Feel free to pull out your phone or computer calculator to divide your salary by 260 working days. Whatever amount you donate, I encourage you to open your calendar and pick an actual day. And say to yourself when you get to the office, or when you're folding laundry, or enjoying your coffee, "this is the day that I'm giving to the children," and say a prayer for our kids. With your gifts and your prayers and God's work in their lives, you restore hope and healing to our children. Make your check payable to Mt. Bethel "for" Work Day Offering.
