Randy Laboring For the Lord

This past summer Mt. Bethel M25 Mission Camps (For the Least and the Lost) witnessed:
    1.  250 students (and adult chaperones) spent six weeks ministering to the homeless under the bridges.
    2.  Six of these students accepted Christ as their Lord and Savior.
    3.  Our M25 students held a carnival for the homeless where they could play games for "prizes." The "prizes" they received were 400 hygiene kits, 200 pairs of socks and 150 candy bars.
    4.  M25 helped unload 10,000 pounds of food to local shelters and soup kitchens.
    5.  Mt. Bethel hosted a barbeque for all the men in the 7 Bridges to Recovery ministry.
    6.  We also developed new partnerships with Gateway Center, The Stewart Center and the Global Soup Project.
    7.  We distributed 40,000 packaged meals to the homeless in Atlanta and coordinated the Atlanta collection effort for a nationwide food drive.
    8.  We distributed 1,800 warm meals to the homeless associated with MUST and Safe House Ministries.
    9.  We constructed new showers, lavatories and vanities for the Garden through our Handy Helpers Ministry.
    10. We have 371 families sponsoring one or more orphaned children through Project 82 Kenya and 180 families sponsoring orphans through BrightPoint in India.
    11. We held two national conferences for pastors and church leaders in Kenya and India.
    12. We sponsor Wellspring Living Ministries which serves girls and young women rescued from the sex and slave trafficking in Atlanta.
    13. We sent mission teams to six countries and two U.S. states.
    14. We sent over 100 participants in short-term mission teams to Bolivia, India, Romania, Estonia, Costa Rica and Kenya.
    15. We have "absorbed" St. Philip into our family of "Community Missions." This ministry includes St. Philip's community center activities - children-teen worship & service projects on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, Sunday worship, GED classes, weight-loss classes, recreational activities, etc.

Mt. Bethel's Mission Ministries have been a labor of love. May God bless every volunteer and contribute as they have blessed the Least and Lost.

Resume reviews begin at 6:30 and the presentation starts at 7:30pm. The evening's topic is Leveraging Technology.  Don't just hit apply, use technology as a networking tool to meet hiring managers. Use this to your advantage by ensuring that you can be found online easily by recruiters and hiring managers and that your brand is clear.  This session provides an inside look into how Recruiters search for job seekers and how you can leverage job boards, search engines, and social networking to expand access and boost your odds of success in your job hunting expedition. We'll also cover what your information looks like to recruiters when they're trying to fill an open position.  Last, after attending this session, you will know how to go beyond just the company website by researching your target companies and open positions via Google, Facebook, and LinkedIn. Volunteers Needed

Bethel UMC to sign up for training classes.

Mt. Bethel Library help needed! Would you be willing to give three hours, once a month, to be available to help members find and check out books? Very little training is needed for this volunteer job! We need folks on Wednesdays afternoons from 3:00-6:00. Thanks! Sherry Reed, Volunteer Librarian - reedsa@att.net

The HOPE Center's Baby Store is in great need of help. We are very backed up in the workroom. If you and/or any groups you know of can come help us we would be hugely blessed!  We need people to process and organize all of our incoming donations and help us to get them out on the store floor. The longer the merchandise sits in the workroom; the less that is available for our clients and customers who need it. We can use any time you are able to give.  Please contact Monti Price at 770-789-2223.  295 Molly Lane, Woodstock, GA.

Computer Stations for Children's Ministry! We need volunteers to help us man the computers on Sunday morning from 9:15-10:45. It will require some knowledge of computer check-in system. You will be helping check children in and troubleshooting if computers are slow. Our goal is to get enough volunteers that you would help only one or two Sundays a month. If you are willing to help us out please contact Becky Tolbert at 678-560-7447 or becky.tolbert@mtbethel.org.

Teen Volunteers! Calling any High Schoolers who are ready to help teach children. We need teen volunteers to help in all areas Sunday morning with children ages 2-5th grade. You can help in Sunday school or Worship - both 9:30 or 11:00.  Please let us know if you are hearing God's call to teach and we can help you.  Please contact Becky Tolbert at 678-560-7447 or becky.tolbert@mtbethel.org.

Missions Ministry

Calling all supporters, adults and children alike, of missions in India!  Please join us for a "Friends of India" Ice Cream Social on Sunday, September 23, at 4:00pm in the Fellowship Hall. Reverend Dr. Peter Pereira and his wife Esther, the founders of Hope For Today in India, will share with us how your gifts have been used to advance the cause of Christ in a country that hungers to hear the good news. Come and see how your "compassion into action" was received this year in India. Whether you have sponsored a child, made God's Eyes, prayer journals, donated socks, band aids, ziploc bags, prayed for India or for someone going on a mission trip, or, simply, if you are interested in seeing how God is moving powerfully in this country, this social is for you!  Rejoice with us as we see how God is using Hope for Today and your prayers and gifts to "bring in the harvest."

Nursery, Preschool & Children's Ministries

The Mt. Bethel Nursery is looking for committed women to be a part of our Nursery Guild. We also have a few meetings during the year, host a Nursery Staff Appreciation Breakfast and are occasionally asked to volunteer in the Nursery. If you would be willing to serve on this committee and give back to our loving, wonderful nursery or learn more, please contact Sara Meyers at slizmeyers@gmail.com.
