Mt. Bethel UMC

April 22, 2012

This past Sunday, we had over 600 families come to the altar and sign resolutions, affirming their commitment to be intentional about their roles as parents, grandparents and mentors.  I had the opportunity to see God's peace in so many faces as individuals knelt at the altar.  This resolution is not a magic pill, but it is another expression for Mt. Bethel, as a community, to be intentional about how we represent Christ to the world.

The purpose of this resolution was to facilitate those who want to grow deeper in their relationship with the Lord and to help with accountability in their walk.  Thank you all for understanding our reasoning to place these resolutions in the hands of those involved in Life Groups and Sunday School Classes.  We want you all to know we care, as a church, about discipleship and want to help facilitate spiritual growth in each of your lives.

The statements on the Resolution carry with them a large responsibility, and this takes accountability.  John Wesley says accountability is the entrance into discipleship. With life's many turns, we realize this season may be difficult for some of you to be involved in either of these areas.  We will continue to provide opportunities to help you grow in your walk and relationship to Christ and your families.  At the point you are able, we would love to plug you into a Life Group or a Sunday School Class. We will be signing the Resolutions again in the fall.

Again, this is another wonderful expression of how our large congregation continues to evolve into a community where we celebrate together, pray together, and serve together!  If you are interested in getting involved, please go to mtbethel.org/disciplelife or contact Gayle Haden or me.

Thank you to everyone who worked so hard to make last Sunday happen.

                Rev. Kelly Brumbeloe

at the Mt. Bethel Community Center, 4608 Lower Roswell Road, Marietta, GA  30068. Resume reviews begin at 6:30 with the presentation at 7:30pm. The topic for the evening will be "Developing your Employment Brand."  Your employment brand is a critical component of your job search.  In today's competitive job market you must be able to communicate who and what you are and identify the skills and knowledge that you bring to a prospective job.  This session focuses on developing your employment brand and integrating it into new and existing job search materials.  There will be plenty of exercises and examples to help you understand and implement this critical step. You will leave with a new sales and marketing approach to your search, plus a process and the tools to successfully position yourself to compete. For more information visit the Mt. Bethel UMC website: mtbethel.org/careerministry or contact Kibbie Jones at 678-560-7230 or
