Randy

The next time you feel like God can't use you, just remember . . .

Noah was a drunk.

Abraham was too old.

Isaac was a day dreamer.

Jacob was a liar.

Leah was ugly.

Joseph was abused.

Moses had a stuttering problem.

Gideon was afraid.

Sampson had long hair and was a womanizer.

Rahab was a prostitute.

Jeremiah and Timothy were too young.

David had an affair and was a murderer.

Elijah was suicidal.

Isaiah preached naked.

Jonah ran from God.

Naomi was a widow.

Job went bankrupt.

John the Baptist ate bugs.

Peter denied Christ.

The Disciples fell asleep while praying.

Martha worried about everything.

The Samaritan woman was divorced more than once.

Zacchaeus was too small.

Paul was too religious.

Timothy had an ulcer.

AND Lazarus was dead!

- Copied -

No more excuses! God can use us all to our full potential. All we need to do is sign up and go to work!

See you at the signing-up place!

Randy Mickler, Senior Pastor

Sunday, March 5 is Scout Sunday.

Cub Scouts - In 2011, Mt. Bethel's Cub Scout Pack 121 completed its 32nd year of  Scouting. The Pack is one of the largest & most active in the Atlanta area. Cub Scouts is family oriented and Pack 121 wants to thank all of the parents who took  time to help guide and lead over 70 boys in our numerous Scouting activities.  We would also like to thank Mt. Bethel for sponsoring our Pack. Some of the activities from last year are: The Great Day of Service, Marietta National Cemetery Flag Placement, East Cobber Parade, several camp-outs, Scouting for Food,  and of course our Pinewood Derby Race. If you have a rising 1st - 5th grade son and are interested in Scouting, visit our website:  http://sites.google.com/site/cubpack121/, call Todd Pinniger at 770-579-9065, or come to our next Pack Meeting. The following Pack 121 Cub Scouts earned "God and Country" program awards: "God and Family" (4-5th grade): Brooks Anderson, Drew DeWitt, Nathan Doyle, Drew Gooch, Ben Maggard, Matt Maggard, Austin Scott, Jay Seiwert, Jackson Thain, and Coleman Thompson

Boy Scout Troop 1011 - Mt. Bethel Boy Scout Troop 1011completed its 40th year of scouting in 2011. The Troop has over 111 active Scouts and has produced 237 Eagle Scouts.  The last 35 years, Troop 1011 has received the National Quality Unit Award and National Camping Award and has also been on the District Honor Roll. During 2011 Mt. Bethel scouts and adult leaders performed over 6,000 hours of community service including Eagle projects, work during Great Day of Service, and Scouts serving as counselors at Camp Hope. The 2011 Scouting for Food Drive collected over 6,000 items for MUST. The Troop served in numerous Flag ceremonies, had 15 campouts, 8 backpacking hikes, 2 summer camps, 7 merit badge clinics, 3 Courts of Honor, 13 Eagle Scout Awards, and 2 high adventure trips. Last year Scouts earned 529 merit badges in 77 categories, 209 rank advancements, 16 religious awards, 3 Scouts reached the 100 camping nights milestone, 6 Scouts were inducted into the Order of the Arrow, 4 Scouts attended Georgia Boys State and 18 Scouts attended high adventure trips.  Time spent in Boy Scouts benefits a boy in many ways. The friends he makes, the work ethic and morality he develops, the community service he practices and the knowledge and skills he gains will help him throughout the course of his life.  Thank you Mt. Bethel for supporting the Scouting Program! To learn more about Scouting at Mt. Bethel visit scouts.mtbethel.org.

Bethel's Community Center (4608 Lower Roswell Road near the corner of Woodlawn Drive)  Resume reviews begin at 6:30 and the presentation starts at 7:30pm. The evening's topic is Social Media. Not for the kids anymore!  Facebook and Twitter are just two of a host of new social networking tools that enable you to connect and share your job search with your network and the world beyond.  Learn how to make use of these tools to communicate with other professionals, target companies, and recruiters.  Understand how to protect your privacy and use common online etiquette to be a better community citizen.  If you're new to Twitter, this session will give you a quick introduction and provide some reasons why you may want to consider using Twitter for your job hunt.  We also cover best practices, vocabulary, joining a community and getting your message out.  More and more recruiters are posting jobs on Twitter.  Learn how to find them at the same time as using Twitter to develop your employment brand, professional credibility, and your own following.  For more information visit the Mt. Bethel UMC website mtbethel.org/careerministry or contact Kibbie Jones at 678-560-7230 /kibbie.jones@mtbethel.org.
