A Man of God

A man of God walked by me today.

I felt him pass as I was on my way.
How do you know, you might say,

That a man of God walked by me today?

He made no claim or statement to say

That he was a man of God walking by that day.
No announcer preceded his approach toward me
To herald his coming - to invite all to see.
There were outward signs of the Master's touch -
The minister's robes, diploma, title and such.
But these only speak of a potential within.
They do not provide grace and do not forgive sin.
How do I know you might say,
That a man of God walked by me today?
I looked in his eyes - I examined his face.
His spirit was enveloped in God's embrace.
How do I know, you might say,
That a man of God walked by me today?
His life is a testament in word and deed
That God's will for his life he does indeed.
How do I know, you might say,
That a man of God walked by me today?
Next time you're near him, just stop and be still.
You may just hear God talking to Wil . . .
Written for and dedicated to the Rev. Wil Parker, by George Mitchell

The past 11 years have flown by. We have experienced many challenges and blessings together. Thank you, Rev. Wil Parker. We are a better people and stronger church because of you. You may be "retiring" from the staff of Mt. Bethel, we will never allow you to retire from our ministry altogether!

                    God Bless You,
                    Randy Mickler, Senior Pastor

Our Joys & Concerns

The altar flowers are given to the Glory of God and in loving memory of Tom and Martha Riden and William and Mildred Lively, given by Carole and Doy Lively.

The Paschal Candle burns in honor of the life of Cliff Taylor, now living in the Father's House.

The Paschal Candle also burns in honor
of the baptism of Braelyn Simone Taylor, daughter of Justin & Kempten Taylor.

Recently hospitalized: Bill Braun, Evelyn Conn, Judy Francis, Tony Johnson, Fred Platt.

We extend Christian sympathy to
Brian, Wendy, Kristen & Brandon Hatfield in the loss of Brian's father, William "Bill" Hatfield; to Jill, Christina, Tyler & Austin Hewes in the loss of Jill's mother, Norma Black; to Jack & Marlene Grisham in the loss of Jack's father, Jim Grisham; to Tim & Debbie Pierce and Brandon, Dana & Hunter Pierce in the loss of Debbie's aunt, Amy G. Dixon; and to Carol Taylor in the loss of her husband, Cliff Taylor. May God hold you in the palm of His hand during this time of grief.

Thank you to our church family - from Rev. McGarr, Rev. Parker and Rev. Fraser to the Tom Day Open Door Class - It has been a rough few months during the loss of both of Brian's parents. We could feel and see the grace of the body of Christ within the "yellow walls".

Eternally grateful and blessed, Brian and Wendy Hatfield
