Mt. Bethel UMC

December 18, 2011

RandyThe world was changed, one midnight clear.
Shepherds came from far and near.
The message went out, the King was born,
There in a manger, on a frosty morn.
Herod ordered Baby Jesus dead
Fearful this King would rule instead.
But that was not part of God's great plan.
His Son would pardon the sins of man.
Today, the lights blink red, white, and green.
The world has forgotten that wonderful scene.
There at the manger, in that lowly stall
The King of Kings came to save us all.
Across the land His name we can't say;
It was our Lord who was born upon that day!
As in the time of Hosea, God's name they replace,
Now it's about material things; what a disgrace!
So we ask that you stop, just for a moment, please.
Remember Jesus Christ, and fall to your knees.
It's not the lights, gifts, and all the things,
Just imagine the sound of those Angel's wings.
Singing Joy to the World, to herald the beginning,
His birth was to save the world from sinning.
So, when all around you it is quiet and still,
Remember His gift from Calvary's Hill.
