"Christian to the Core?"

RandyReally? Who among us is really Christian to the core? How can we tell? The answer has to do with worship, passion, a caring love, all backed up with a genuine sense of integrity.
No doubt, everyone would agree that Jesus Christ was (is) "Christian to the Core!" One of the most powerful demonstrations of His "core" occurred in the Upper Room as He took a basin of water with a towel in His hands and knelt before each disciple, washing their feet.
Some people claim to be Christian to the core but their selfish attempts to gain position, recognition, wealth and comfort give them away. Some folks will speak words of faith on a regular basis, and then speak words of Godlessness in order to appease everyone's feelings. They are ready to embrace anything in order to avoid sincere struggle or sacrifice. They are like the man in the Civil War days who didn't want to be shot by the North or the South so he wore a blue coat and a gray pair of pants. Unfortunately, the Confederates shot him in the coat and the Federals in the pants!
Christian to the Core . . . are you?
Mt. Bethel's ministries involving outreach to "The Least and Lost" provides wonderful opportunities to make our core-being more Christ-like. Reaching out with love to those who have nothing (the rich and the poor) upon which they can build a life filled with meaning and purpose, provides powerful opportunities to build a Christ-like core.
The Christian to the Core person truly discovers that those who give of themselves in the Cause of Christ, receive far more than ever imagined. The givers reach out their arms to hold or help a fellow struggler, only to realize that Christ Himself is returning their embrace.
As we begin this new season at Mt. Bethel, I invite you to discover for yourself the wonderful, life-changing blessings of becoming Christian to the Core! Involve your Life Group, Bible Study, Sunday School Class, whatever - in Mt. Bethel's "Christian to the Core, Compassion Into Action" journey. You can pick up your study guides in our Chapter and Verse Book Store. This special series of sermons begins August 21.

                Welcome to the Core,

Randy

Under her excellent choral leadership as our Youth Choir Director and then Children's Director, hundreds of young lives have been touched in Christ's name. Bethel through their participation as volunteers and faithful members. God Bless You, Beth, thank you! We love you.  Randy
