"To the Least and Lost"

According to our homeless guests, summer is more difficult than winter. Often on cold nights, we would find folks sleeping under the bridges with small fires, sometimes also beneath 10 blankets. But how do they cope under the bridges when the temperature reaches 100 degrees or higher? Heat stroke is more prevalent than frostbite!

Mt. Bethel's Homeless Ministry is making plans to aid our special friends during the hottest months in Hotlanta. Our plan is to run the buses to rescue the least and lost when the heat-index reaches 105 degrees. We will minister to them in the same fashion as we do when the temperature reaches 25 degrees. We will feed them in the fellowship hall, allow them to cool off and shower in the gym, feed them breakfast and return them to their location by 8:00am. This ministry will indeed save lives and provide some hope to those who need it most.

Also, we are going to pick them up for periodical "check-ups" with our medical personnel within Mt. Bethel. These dates are August 19, September 22 and October 20. Mt. Bethel has accepted the invitation from Safe House to lead their worship service and provide their supper the third Wednesday of each month, beginning July 20.

"M25," under the direction of Mt. Bethel's Gabe Barrett, is our student outreach to the Homeless. "M25" (Matthew 25, check it out) features 4 camps of students from churches throughout the south that will minister to the homeless. The different mission teams will be hosted by Mt. Bethel Sunday through Friday, sleep in our gym, with meals at the Garden. These ministry teams from other churches finance their own work week, with all profits supporting Mt. Bethel's ministry to the Least and Lost.

Mt. Bethel has discovered that ministry knows no "vacation" season. Thank you in advance for the willingness to Be the church. Please look for our call for volunteers on our website.

                    God Bless You,

                    Randy Mickler, Senior Pastor

Please join us in the Fellowship Hall after the 11:00 services Sunday for a reception honoring Jody, Shelley, Jennings, Carson & Robert Ray. The love offering will also be presented. Please make your check payable to Mt. Bethel for the Ray's love offering.

Construction will begin on Mt. Bethel's 30th & 31st Habitat homes in early September. We need support of race sponsors if we are to build these homes. If you, your company or your employer would like information about becoming a race sponsor, please contact Mark Taylor at 404-635-6839 or markalantaylor@gmail.com.
