Homeless Ministry Visits Under the Bridges - Would you like to visit the homeless under the bridges in Atlanta? On Tuesday nights, May 24, June 7, July 19 & August 9, meet at the church at 4:00. We'll grab a burger at US Cafe, tour the Garden and pick up our guides and sack meals to distribute. We will be back at the church around 10:00pm. The Divorce Support Recovery Group will meet next week, Wednesday, May 25, at Marlow's in the Merchant's Walk Shopping Center. We will meet there through August at 6:30pm each week. Special Olympics Summer Games, Saturday May 21 - Come help us cheer on Georgia's Special Athletes as "Fans in the Stands." We will cheer at the Track Venue at Emory University from 8am -11am. The bus will leave Mt. Bethel, Saturday at 7:15am - please RSVP to reserve your seat on the bus by Thursday, May 19 to Kim McGarr at 770-579-9224, ext. 25 or kim.mcgarr@mtbethel.org. Mt. Bethel Shuttle Schedule for the summer will begin June 5. Summer Shuttle Service runs 2 buses ONLY at Dickerson Middle School (the shuttle does not run at Terrell Mill) - normal Shuttle service will resume on August 14.

Mt. Bethel's Career Ministry will meet on Tuesday, May 24 at Mt. Bethel's Community Center (4608 Lower Roswell Road near the corner of Woodlawn Drive). Resume reviews begin at 6:30 and the presentation starts at 7:30pm. The evening's topic is Social Media. Not for the kids anymore! Facebook and Twitter are just two of a host of new social networking tools that enable you to connect and share your job search with your network and the world beyond. Learn how to make use of these tools to communicate with other professionals, target companies, and recruiters. Understand how to protect your privacy and use common online etiquette to be a better community citizen. If you're new to Twitter, this session will give you a quick introduction and provide some reasons why you may want to consider using Twitter for your job hunt. We also cover best practices, vocabulary, joining a community and getting your message out. More and more recruiters are posting jobs on Twitter. Learn how to find them at the same time as using Twitter to develop your employment brand, professional credibility, and your own following. For more information visit the Mt. Camp Friendship is a social skills camp for students who would like to improve their social functioning in a fun & exciting environment. Led by Gayle Born & Mary Jane Trotti, the sessions include managing emotions, teamwork, reading social cues, self-image, self-awareness and communications skills. The camp is held at Mt. Bethel. Mt. Bethel Christian Academy Employment Opportunity - If you love children, are multi-talented, and want to make an impact on young lives, this is your opportunity. Mt. Bethel Christian Academy is looking for someone to work 11:00am- 6:00pm, Monday - Friday. The responsibilities of this position include: monitoring students during their lunchtime, covering for the front desk receptionist during lunch, and assisting with the After-School Program. Summer Bible Studies - Register Online
Nursery will be available for all summer Bible studies for children up to age 11. The nursery is free for children ages 4 and under. A nominal fee of $3 per child per event will be charged for children ages 5-11. NURSERY RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED. Contact Debbie Ruth at 770-971-2588.
Staying in the Word Morning Study / 5-week study offered on Mondays & Wednesdays - Participants will examine and discuss scripture relating to various topics such as sin, grace and heaven. This class will be offered twice a week from 10:00am-12:00pm in room F026. You can pick which class is more convenient each week. The topic will be the same for both classes each week. The class schedule is as follows: Due to Memorial Day, the first Monday class will actually meet Tuesday, May 31. The other dates are June 1, 6, 8, 13, 15, 20, 22, 27 & 29. Led by Millie Atkinson. One Month To Live / 5 Week Study / Begins Wednesday, June 8
What if you only had one month to live? How would you make each day really matter? What would you start, or stop, doing? How would you relate to others? One Month to Live empowers you to focus on being who God created you to be--passionate, fully alive, living without regrets. Written in 30 short insightful chapters, this is one month's journey you'll never forget. Classes will be from 7:00-9:00pm in room B118 on Wednesday, June 8, 15, 22, 29 and July 13. Children's Ministry
Jesus said that the children are precious in His sight. They are only children for a moment and we need to capture each moment we can to teach them about God. Parents, did you know that you are the most influential person in your child's life? Why not lead by example and take a Sunday or two this summer to teach in Sunday School at 9:30 or volunteer in Children's worship at 11:00? Father/Child Campout | June 3 & 4 | Mt. Bethel "Fields of Dreams" | register online. A great opportunity for fathers to spend time with their children! Also, a great time for grandfathers and grandchildren. Burgers and dogs served at 6:30 Friday. After the burgers and dogs, there will be s'mores! Breakfast will be at 7:30am on Saturday morning. Infusion - A camp for rising 5th, 6th, 7th, & 8th graders | June 19-24 | Camp Evergreen at Lake Burton Infusion is a week-long camp that introduces students to morning devotions, family group time, peer to peer small groups, worship, and a message followed up with small group discussions by grade level. Students can also expect fun stuff like ziplines, canoes, lake blob, shaving cream, hiking, and slip n' slide.
Volunteers - We need you! Vacation Bible School is just around the corner and we need volunteers to lead the children. Are you feeling the quiet nudge to help out? Please let us know that you are ready to join us for Shake It Up Café where Kids Carry Out God's Recipe! Dates are June 6-10 from 12:30-3:30. It takes over 120 adult volunteers to make VBS a success, please call and tell us you can help. We also need teen helpers. If you are a rising 7th grader you can be a part of VBS. Middle Schoolers: We get together at 7:30am and play games and hang out in the gym, play a game (winner gets free breakfast), have a short devotional, then head to the Fellowship Hall for breakfast at 8am. Then, off to school! It's the best way to start your Tuesday morning!

College and Young Adult Ministry ( 2011 HIGH SCHOOL GRADS- this means you!)
Here's what's happening just for you this summer:
PURSUIT - is our Thursday night summer gathering. Pursuit meets for music and a message at 7pm in the Upper Room, every week May 26- July 28. Come meet new friends or reconnect with old ones who are back in town for the summer. **For our summer kickoff we will have a picnic in East Cobb Park on May 19 from 7-10pm. Bring a drink and snack to share**.
Sunday Morning - each Sunday throughout the year we meet in the CAC's aerobics room at 9:30 am. We read and have conversation about the Bible and how it applies to your life.
Tuesday nights from 7 to 10pm we have Bible study at the Kelly's. We study and discuss the Scriptures and how they impact our lives. We share a meal and dive into the WORD. Address is 1480 Brookcliff Drive, Marietta 30062.

Recreation Ministry
Youth Spring Sports - Final games and pizza parties are this week. Come to the CAC after your final game of the season for your team pizza party and awards celebration!
Youth Fall Sports - Register now for soccer, baseball, t-ball, softball, flag football and volleyball. Register in the CAC or online. Go to mtbethel.org/rec for additional information and details on ages and fees.
Mt. Bethel Night @ The Braves! Join us Friday, June 17. Braves vs Texas Rangers. Tickets are $15 and may now be purchased in the CAC. We will parade around the field before the game. Someone from Mt. Bethel will perform the National Anthem. Fireworks after the game. Everyone is welcome!

This camp focuses on teaching the correct execution of skills to prepare players for the next level. The fun competitions and individual attention will improve any player's skills.

Mt. Bethel UMC along with Sports-A-Rama will present our summer baseball camp. Camp instructors are comprised of former major and minor league players, current and former collegiate players and high school coaches. This camp will focus on players' mechanical and fundamental skills.

This 3-day camp lead by Mt. Bethel Christian Academy volleyball coaches Melissa Sneed and Brian Bergius will focus on the rules and fundamentals of volleyball while incorporating game play situations.

Music Ministry
Music Week, for rising first through rising sixth graders, will be July 18-22, 9:00 am-1:00pm. Our performance of "101 Dalmatians" will be Friday evening, July 22, at 7:00pm. Auditions for the acting roles will be held on May 11, 18, and 25 - beginning at 5:30pm in A23. Please register before auditioning.
Prayer Ministry

Mt. Bethel Tornado Disaster Relief Update
We are collecting donations in the CAC lobby to aid victims of the recent tornado disaster. Items needed are:
Drink/Drink Mixes: Crystal Light packets, Gatorade, juice
Non-perishable Food Items and Canned Food Items: beanie weenies, vienna sausages, peanut butter, tuna
Linens: bedding, towels, blankets, sheets
Underwear: women's underwear and bras, men's underwear, children's underwear
Children's Supplies: children's medicine, baby shampoo, baby lotion, juice boxes, toddler food, Gerber Graduates
Utilities: flashlights, masking tape, batteries, heavy duty trash bags, can openers
Toiletries: sunscreen, chap stick, bug spray, deodorant, shaving cream, gauze pads
Large #10 cans of food
