Commitment 2012 Update:
Mt. Bethel has 2,500 families (giving units) and thus far, 955 have returned their commitment cards for a total of $6,435,342. Our operating budget for 2011 is $9,000,000. Please return your pledge card as soon as possible.
Jesus said that the children are precious in His sight. They are only children for a moment and we need to capture each moment we can to teach them about God. Parents, did you know that you are the most influential person in your child's life? Why not lead by example and take a Sunday or two this summer to teach in Sunday School at 9:30 or volunteer in Children's worship at 11:00? Mt. Bethel Night at The Braves. Join us Friday, June 17 for Braves vs. Texas Rangers. Tickets are $15 and may be purchased in the CAC. We will parade around the field before the game. There will be fireworks after the game. Everyone is welcome!

Homeless Ministry Visits Under the Bridges - Would you like to visit the homeless under the bridges in Atlanta? On Tuesday nights, May 24, June 7, July 19 & August 9, meet at the church at 4:00. We'll grab a burger at US Cafe, tour the Garden and pick up our guides and sack meals to distribute. We will be back at the church around 10:00pm. Georgia Special Olympics Summer Games
Come volunteer with us as we cheer on all the Special Athletes! We will be "Fans in the Stands"! These Special Athletes really appreciate the encouragement they receive from the crowd - join us as we shake our pom-poms and cheer them on to victory, Saturday morning, May 21 at Emory University. The Mt. Bethel Day Care Center is currently enrolling Infants (ages 6 weeks -9 months) for full time childcare. If interested, please call the center at 678-560-8005. Mt. Bethel Christian Academy Employment Opportunity - If you love children, are multi-talented, and want to make an impact on young lives, this is your opportunity. Mt. Bethel Christian Academy is looking for someone to work 11:00am- 6:00pm, Monday - Friday. The responsibilities of this position include: monitoring students during their lunchtime, covering for the front desk receptionist during lunch, and assisting with the After-School Program. Summer Bible Studies - Register Online Nursery will be available for all summer Bible studies for children up to age 11. The nursery is free for children ages 4 and under. A nominal fee of $3 per child per event will be charged for children ages 5-11. NURSERY RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED. Contact Debbie Ruth at 770-971-2588. Staying in the Word Morning Study / 5-week study offered on Mondays & Wednesdays Participants will examine and discuss scripture relating to various topics such as sin, grace and heaven. This class will be offered twice a week from 10:00am-12:00pm in room F026. You can pick which class is more convenient each week. The topic will be the same for both classes each week. The class schedule is as follows: Due to Memorial Day, the first Monday class will actually meet Tuesday, May 31. The other dates are June 1, 6, 8, 13, 15, 20, 22, 27 & 29. Led by Millie Atkinson. How would you make each day really matter? What would you start, or stop, doing? How would you relate to others? One Month to Live empowers you to focus on being who God created you to be--passionate, fully alive, living without regrets. Written in 30 short insightful chapters, this is one month's journey you'll never forget. Classes will be from 7:00-9:00pm in room B118 on Wednesday, June 8, 15, 22, 29 and July 13. Children's Ministry Registration is now open for Preschool Summer Camps June 20-July 1 and July 18-July 22. Two-year-olds to six-year-olds. A great opportunity for fathers to spend time with their children! Also, a great time for grandfathers and grandchildren. Burgers and dogs served at 6:30 Friday. After the burgers and dogs, there will be s'mores! Breakfast will be at 7:30am on Saturday morning. Come and enjoy this great early summer Mt. Bethel event! Infusion - A camp for rising 5th, 6th, 7th, & 8th graders | June 19-24 | Camp Evergreen at Lake Burton Infusion is a week-long camp that introduces students to morning devotions, family group time, peer to peer small groups, worship, and a message followed up with small group discussions by grade level. Students can also expect fun stuff like ziplines, canoes, lake blob, shaving cream, hiking, and slip n' slide.
Volunteers - We need you! Vacation Bible School is just around the corner and we need volunteers to lead the children. Are you feeling the quiet nudge to help out? Please let us know that you are ready to join us for Shake It Up Café where Kids Carry Out God's Recipe! Dates are June 6-10 from 12:30-3:30. It takes over 120 adult volunteers to make VBS a success, please call and tell us you can help. We also need teen helpers. If you are a rising 7th grader you can be a part of VBS. Tuesday Morning Breakfast | May 17th | 7:30am Middle Schoolers: We get together at 7:30am and play games and hang out in the gym, play a game (winner gets free breakfast), have a short devotional, then at head to the Fellowship Hall for breakfast at 8am. This camp focuses on teaching the correct execution of skills to prepare players for the next level. The fun competitions and individual attention will improve any player's skills.

Mt. Bethel UMC along with Sports-A-Rama will present our summer baseball camp. Camp instructors are comprised of former major and minor league players, current and former collegiate players and high school coaches. This camp will focus on players' mechanical and fundamental skills.

Four-day camp focusing on fundamentals of the game: shooting, passing, dribbling and defense lead by our own Roger Kaiser (2-time All American for Ga. Tech, won three national championships as coach).
Volleyball Camp (Monday-Wednesday) - Rates: Mt. Bethel Member:$75, Non-Member $95 Session I - July 25-27, 9am-12pm, Girls, rising 4th/5th grades Session II -July 25-27, 1-4pm, Girls rising 6th-8th Grades This 3-day camp lead by Mt. Bethel Christian Academy volleyball coaches Melissa Sneed and Brian Bergius will focus on the rules and fundamentals of volleyball while incorporating game play situations. Music Ministry Music Week, for rising first through rising sixth graders, will be July 18-22, 9:00 am-1:00pm. Our performance of "101 Dalmatians" will be Friday evening, July 22, at 7:00pm. Auditions for the acting roles will be held on May 11, 18, and 25 - beginning at 5:30pm in A23. Please register before auditioning.

Missions Ministry
WE ASKED...AND YOU DELIVERED! Our donation trailer was pulled to West Virginia packed FULL of household items thanks to your generosity. Can you do it again for the next team that leaves Mt. Bethel on May 26? Your donations can include kitchenware, working small appliances, decorative items, seasonal decorations, sheets, towels, new containers of hygiene items and, of course, clothing. If possible, please pack in "travel-ready" boxes with contents marked on outside. It only takes a few days for our trailer load of items to be distributed into the impoverished W.Va. community. Also, there are a few spots left on that May team, and several on the team that leaves Oct. 13. Consider getting involved in this ministry...you will be blessed. Camp Hope / Kidz2Leaders Camp Hope - our ministry, interns4tomorrow, places our veteran campers into the local work place. "Taking Our Kidz 2 Work." Eleven of our interns will travel over 9,000 miles to and from internships this summer. They will travel by public transportation, taxi, staff, family members, and volunteers. If you will be able to help from time to time, to get an intern to work this summer, we sure could use your help. Internships begin May 31 and end on August 11. Gas cards can be provided as needed.
