Mt. Bethel UMC

Message from the Minister

 Holy Week Schedule

Maundy Thursday, April 21 - Communion Service in the Sanctuary at 7:00pm

Good Friday, April 22 - Youth Service at 11:30am in the Sanctuary. Rev. Jody Ray will bring the message. Free pizza lunch in the Fellowship Hall following the service.

Good Friday, April 22 - Tenebrae Service - 7:00pm - The Service of Tenebrae (the name means "darkness" or "shadows") is a Holy Week devotion which dates back to the seventh or eighth century A.D. and is characterized by a successive extinguishing of candles. This service, which is composed primarily of Bible readings about the last hours of Jesus' life, powerfully dramatizes Jesus' passion and death. It not only reminds us of the extreme price Jesus paid and helps us experience the dark emotions of the final events of Jesus' life, but it reminds us of what the world would be like if Jesus had never come. Each reading and event in the service brings us closer to the barrenness and darkness of a world without Christ. The final climax comes when the Christ Candle is carried out and the Sanctuary is in complete darkness. It is important for us to remember that to Jesus' disciples, the days between the cross and Easter were days of desolation - Christ really was gone from their world.

Saturday Egg Hunt & Jerusalem Market - April 23

Egg hunt for ages 2-4 is at 9:15; for ages Kindergarten & up is at 9:45.

Bethel's Community Center (4608 Lower Roswell Road near the corner of Woodlawn Drive)  Resume reviews begin at 6:30pm and the Presentation starts at 7:30pm.  The evening's topic is Leveraging Technology.  Don't just hit apply, use technology as a networking tool to meet hiring managers.  By now you know that the Internet has changed job search strategy completely.  Use this to your advantage by ensuring that you can be found online easily by recruiters and hiring managers and that your brand is clear.  This session provides an inside look into how Recruiters search for job seekers and how you can leverage job boards, search engines, and social networking to expand access and boost your odds of success in your job hunting expedition.  We'll also cover what your information looks like to recruiters when they're trying to fill an open position.  Last, after attending this session, you will know how to go beyond just the company website by researching your target companies and open positions via Google, Facebook, and LinkedIn.   For more information visit the Mt. Bethel UMC website or contact Kibbie Jones at 678-560-7230. Future Meeting:  Tuesday, May 10 - Topic:  LinkedIn

have a bunch of this stuff packed away somewhere that you will not use again. They are much needed and appreciated in W.Va. Let's try to fill our donation trailer before April 28 when the next team will take it with them. Also, we have had some

recent openings for both the April and May trips and cannot go short-handed the way this ministry is growing. Please consider joining one of these three-day mission trips. Contact Larry Armstrong at 678/457-7524  for more information. You will be blessed!
