Mt. Bethel UMC

Message from the Minister

"Say What???"

Randy

Last Sunday's congregations voted unanimously, at both the 9:30 and 11:00 Sanctuary services, to reach out "in faith" to the Least and Lost this Easter Sunday. Rather than making a special effort to appeal to our "semi-annual" visitors to become more involved, the church has decided to turn our efforts toward those desiring to join us, but can't due to their circumstances. That's right, we are once again going to the Least and Lost, under the bridges of Atlanta.

We will deploy our buses Easter Sunday morning prior to our Sunrise Service in order to bring our guests to breakfast in the Fellowship Hall. Already, hundreds of Mt. Bethel members have volunteered to serve our guests as hosts and hostesses for breakfast and worship. Following breakfast, we will accompany our guests into the Sanctuary for the 9:00 Easter service. Following the 9:00 service, our buses will return our guests to their departure areas.

Why are we doing this? It's really simple. In reaching out to the Least and Lost, we are embracing Jesus Christ (Matthew 25:40).

We are also encouraging our congregations to "dress down," intentionally focusing on the spiritual rather than the fashionable. No doubt, it will also help our guests to feel less conspicuous.

Here's the schedule for Easter at Mt. Bethel:

7:00am Easter Sunrise Service on the "Fields of Dreams" - Rev. Diane Parrish and special music.

7:30am Breakfast - with all the trimmings ($4) - in the Fellowship Hall

9:00 & 11:00am Worship Services in the Sanctuary, Fellowship Hall, Gym and Upper Room. Rev. Jody Ray will be in the Fellowship Hall with special music. I will be in the Sanctuary. A special worship service for children will be in the Gym.

Shuttles will run from Dickerson Middle School and Terrell Mill Park. Nursery provided for all worship services. No Sunday School on Easter Sunday.

Let's make this Easter celebration everything God would have it to be.

                    Hallelujah,

                    Randy Mickler, Senior Pastor
