Mt. Bethel's Career Ministry will meet Tuesday, February 22, at Mt. Bethel's Community Center (4608 Lower Roswell Road near the corner of Woodlawn Drive). Resume reviews begin at 6:30 and the presentation starts at 7:30pm. The evening's topic is "Pay and Your Job Search - What Should I Say?" Most job seekers find dealing with pay issues to be one of the most challenging components of their job search. How do you address the dreaded questions, "What is your current pay" and "What pay do you expect"? Compensation is perceived by most employees and job seekers as a "black box" because compensation management principles, systems, and rates of pay are not openly communicated to either employees or job seekers. This session will focus on preparing you to answer the two dreaded questions as well as open up the "black box" to provide you with the inside information that you need to be prepared to manage all aspects of the pay component of your job search. Overcoming - Fulfill Your God Given Destiny|Thursday, March 24|6:30-9:30pm
Christian vocalist and speaker, Lori Kennedy, believes in sharing the gifts and talents in which Christ has blessed her. As a singer and worship leader, Lori's aspiration is to encourage and lead others to the throne of Grace through her music and ministry. Lori reaches out to others through her inspirational songs and speaking engagements. We will begin this evening with a pot luck meal and fellowship. The meal will be followed by worship and a dramatic presentation. Next, Lori will give her testimony and present on how to overcome your obstacles and wounds in order to begin to fulfill your God-given destiny. We ask all ladies attending to bring a dinner dish to share. This is a free event, however, we ask you to register online. A love offering will be taken at the end of the evening. Questions can be directed to Kris Michaelides - 678-560-7427.
Pastoral Care
From time to time, all of us need someone with whom we can share our concerns and worries. Mt. Bethel has Stephen Ministers who are trained caregivers, ready to help you through any crisis or need. All conversations are confidential. For more information, please contact any of our ministers or John Semler.
The Divorce Support/Recovery Group meets each Wednesday at 6:30 in the H House. This group is for those going through one of the most heart-wrenching tragedies that a person can face. Divorce is not the end of one's world, but it can sure seem like it. When people go through such hardships, they need a support/recovery group where they can find acceptance, feel comfortable with, learn from, and have the opportunity to express their emotions with a group that understands. Trained facilitators help those grieving the hurt of rejection and loss, and confused as to their place in life as a divorcee. Together we help each other gain confidence and restore self esteem. One need not be a member of Mt Bethel to be a part of this group, so tell others. For more information, please call Jeanette Imboden at 678-699-5755, or Mike Gillam at 404-372-7668.
Support Groups
Stephen Ministry Support - There are times when each of us needs someone to listen to us and pray with us about situations we are facing. Stephen Ministers are trained, caring members of Mt Bethel. They provide distinctively Christian one-on-one care to those who are experiencing a situation that has placed them in need of someone to listen. This may include births, deaths, serious or terminal illness, family crisis, divorce, problems with children, caring for aging parents, financial problems - literally any challenging situation. Stephen Ministers work with people of the same gender and offer Christian care and while maintaining strict confidentially. They help by listening and sharing God's love to help with the confusion, stress, hurt, or loneliness. Please call John Semler at 770-937-0321 or Kibbie Jones at 678-560-7230 for more information.
