Mt. Bethel UMC - Compassion Into Action
Message From The Minister

Dear Mt. Bethel,

For years, Mt. Bethel has been called to go to the least and to the lost nationally and throughout the world. As our teams have returned, most have felt led to serve locally, whether downtown Atlanta or in our own backyard. The need for ministry within our own community has become greater than ever, and God's compassion is leading us as a church to reach out to meet their needs.

We want to communicate to the East Cobb community how God is leading Mt. Bethel to respond to the spiritual, as well as physical, needs of His special children. This Sunday, January 30, we will unveil tools and resources designed for our congregation that will enable us to talk about our faith and how God is using this church to transform lives.

Through our recent ministry to the homeless, we have discovered that, in many situations, the "lost" are living next door to us, literally. So many of our neighbors "just don't get it." So often, upon learning of Mt. Bethel's ministry to the least, they ask "Why?!"  We want to help them grow in the love and compassion of Jesus Christ through their participation with us as we reach out to the least.

The "least" and the "lost" are not always the same people. So often the least (homeless) are not lost, and so often the affluent are! Our calling is to invite our friends and neighbors who "don't get it" to experience the power and energy of Christ, through our hands-on ministries of "Compassion Into Action."

Join us this Sunday. We will all have the opportunity to see and hear more about how God is moving through our East Cobb community and His church, Mt. Bethel.

                    God Bless You,

                    Randy
