Mt. Bethel UMC - Compassion Into Action
Message From The Minister

Looking back over 2010 is cause for celebration at Mt. Bethel. In spite of all the challenges regarding the economy and world affairs, Mt. Bethel excelled. As we move into the new year, let's celebrate our journey through last year!

Here are the facts:
1200     Active in Children's Ministry
2000     Involved in Vacation Bible Schools
304     New members
192     Received on Profession of Faith
8794     Membership at end of 2010
3086    Average attendance for all services
85        Baptisms
494    Enrolled in the Mt. Bethel Christian Academy
3000    Participants in the Recreation Ministries
850    Involved in Life Groups

Also, we are in the black with our finances although the total numbers are still being calculated. Add to these facts that more members then ever were involved in missions, local and foreign. Our new ministry with the homeless has been a total success with over 500 of God's "least and lost" being blessed with a new understanding of God's Grace.
It's been an honor and privilege working with you in the Cause of Christ. Let's make 2011 all it can be for His Glory!
                        Randy

Mt. Bethel's Career Ministry will meet on Tuesday, January 11, at Mt. Bethel's Community Center (4608 Lower Roswell Road near the corner of Woodlawn Drive)  Resume reviews begin at 6:30pm and the Presentation starts at 7:30pm. The evening's topic is Developing and Marketing Your Employment Brand. Developing an Employment Brand is a key component of a successful job search. In today's job market, companies are looking for candidates who have clearly communicated who they are, what they are, and the skills and knowledge that they bring to a perspective job. Recruiters and HR professionals are looking for job seekers on a daily basis. It is important to make sure you can be found easily and that your brand is clear. This session will provide an inside look into how recruiters search for job seekers. This session will also provide a process and tools for job seekers to successfully position themselves and compete in today's challenging labor market.  For more information visit the Mt. Bethel UMC website or contact Kibbie Jones at 678-560-7230.

Women's Ministry

Ladies: There was a time when women had no other women to talk to. There was a time when their home/tent was their entire life's existence. And, there was a time when their only venue through which they could connect with other women was at the water well before sunrise and before sunset. In our busy, crazy, indeed absolutely insane schedules - more and more, women feel isolated - even though they are busy with other people! Join the women of Mt. Bethel as we find new ways to meet other women and celebrate our relationships! Indeed, we will "meet at the well" to enjoy an hour of dessert and coffee as our own, Kelly Brumbeloe, shares her perspective on why women need to connect. Thursday, January 13, 6:30-7:30pm. Admission is free, but please pick up a ticket in the Mt. Bethel Bookstore. Questions?  Please contact Kris Michaelides @ 678-560-7427.

The Diane Mickler Circle will meet Monday, January 10, at 10:00am in the H House. Kelly Brumbeloe is going to talk to us and answer questions about the Women at the Well program. For further information call Linda Lakshas, 770-579-1862.

The Dorothy Summerour Circle will meet January 12, at the home of Paula Braswell, 301 Chase Lane, Marietta, GA 30068. The meeting will begin at 9:00am for refreshments and a brief meeting to be followed by a trip to the home of Mary Ettel for a packing party for our soldiers.
