Message from the Minister
Come on Holy Spirit! Just
prior to the Ascension, Jesus told the Disciples to gather in the Upper Room
and wait for the Holy Spirit to come upon them and give them the power to
transform the world. The Disciples did just as they were told. After experiencing the Holy Spirit, they turned the
world upside-down for Jesus Christ! That
Holy Spirit is something else! Today, Christianity is worldwide! Today,
millions of people are discovering the love of God through Jesus Christ, via
the Holy Spirit. Today, Africa, South America, and the Orient are experiencing
great spiritual revival. One looks around the world and marvels that the Holy Spirit is working hard. So . . .
what's happening here? Where is the Holy Spirit at work?! Mt.
Bethel is an amazing church. The Seven Bridges Ministry, St. Philip, Kenya
missions, European missions and Central & South America missions from Mt.
Bethel are making a difference in the lives of thousands. Here, literally
thousands of children are experiencing the Christian way because of Mt. Bethel
ministries! Over 600 small groups are empowered by the Holy Spirit right here!
Christian education and retreats are thriving through Mt. Bethel. The
Recreation Ministries, the Day Care, Preschool, Academy . . . all compliments
of the Holy Spirit and willing Disciples. The
Holy Spirit is not losing any power! The past two years have been extremely
difficult financially for Mt. Bethel. Over $2 million have been cut from the
operating budget since 2008. We are managing on the same budget adopted in
2009. Yet, the Holy Spirit has provided enough revenue through generous new
Christians, at critical times, to keep the church from losing ground. By His
good grace, new members have stepped forward with their faithful commitment as
hard times have forced some of our long-time members to reduce their
commitment. No doubt, there are some more self-centered, rather than Christ-centered,
reasons for some of their giving cutbacks. It's truly a miraculous thing
to observe when the Holy Spirit is obviously at work! May
the Holy Spirit continue to bless God's church through newer and older
faithfully-committed members! My sincere hope and prayer is that each
commitment represents one's true tithe. May each income be affected
appropriately! God
bless you, and Come On Holy Spirit! Randy

much so that we have added two more for a total of six teams which will be
serving the needs of the severely poor in this Appalachia region of our own
country. If you have a small group that would like to consider participating,
contact Larry Armstrong for more details. Also, your generosity
has resulted in our collection trailer being filled several times with clothing
and household items. The need continues. Please pack your items in travel-ready
boxes with the contents marked outside the box. And please be sure to put them
inside the trailer and not outside the trailer on the parking lot. Do you know
someone moving or having a garage sale? Ask them to consider donating items
they no longer use which might be useful to, or brighten up the day of someone
much less fortunate than we are.
