Message from the Minister
Easter at Mt. Bethel was fantastic, beautiful, crowded, uplifting, sensational, etc., etc., etc. Thank you for making it so through your participation! Now, let's continue the celebration! This Sunday, we will remember Peter's encounter with the Risen Lord on the shores of Galilee. Holy Communion will be celebrated and we will be charged to "feed" His sheep. This is where everyone can lend-a-hand as Mt. Bethel completes its stewardship drive for the new fiscal year 2010-2011. Thus far, $5.1 million have been pledged toward our operating budget of $8 million. Thus far, 788 families have returned their estimate-of-giving cards. There are 2,500 families in Mt. Bethel. This same time last year, $6.1 million had been pledged and 947 families had returned their pledge cards. Mt. Bethel's operating budget includes nearly three million dollars for benevolent and missional opportunities. Our Apportionments help 13 seminaries, 133 schools, colleges and universities; 650 full-time missionaries in more than 50 countries and aid to refugees in more than 35 countries. Our operating budget allows Mt. Bethel to minister to 3,000 children on a weekly basis. This budget also covers our equipment and structural needs of a soon-to-be 9,000 member congregation. That's a lot of "feeding"! The challenge the Lord has given us cannot be answered or met without our faithful stewardship. We must have everyone's help! Please return your pledge card today. May God bless you as you are willing to bless others. Let's Feed His Sheep and Tend His Lambs, Randy
