Message from the Minister
God's Promises . . . Do you want your heart to be with God? Jesus said, "Where your treasure is, there will be your heart also? (Matthew 6:21). In other words, your money and heart follow each other. Most of us spend our money on the things that are important to us. Jesus is telling us these things become important to us because that is where we spend our money. If we put our money where we desire our hearts to be, our hearts will move there! If you want your heart to be with God, and I believe you do, then you may want to change how you give to the work of God. Don't treat your offerings to the church as just another bill that has to be paid, or a religious tax, or club dues. Make your gifts a "first-fruits offering." The tithe is one-tenth of one's income, give that percentage off the top. Observe how important God's work becomes to you! Don't give God the leftovers. Give to God at those times when God has given you. If you learn to be generous with God, He will see to it that you'll meet your other obligations. Put your money where you want your heart to be! Your heart will follow your money, and you'll be less anxious about money because you'll be trusting God's promises. That is the essence of faith. God promises that giving this way will change your life because it will change the way you deal with your money. It makes a "thanks" offering to God in proportion to all that God has given you. It changes dealing with your money into an act of faith. Then and only then will we understand ourselves as stewards of God's gifts rather than the owner of what we have. Commitment Sunday at Mt. Bethel is March 28. Soon, you will receive your estimate-of-giving card. Please be in prayer regarding the promises God makes concerning our givings. See You Sunday, Randy |

What does it mean to be a Christian Leader, at work, at home, at church and in the world? One of the ways we have been able to answer this question is from the Biblical teachings we have received through one of our significant missions ministry partners, International Leadership Institute (ILI). Starting on Wednesday, March 17, at 6:30pm, in room F322, we will begin teaching the 8 Core Values of Christian Leadership. We are encouraging anyone in whatever role, big or small, to join us for these 8 sessions. By participating in the same ILI training that has been used with Christian leaders around the world, we believe God can use these eternal values from scripture to strengthen our church and prepare us for greater things in the life of our church and around the world. Register online.

way . . . and a little of each will take the youth choir all the way to New
York! One A-Chord will be distributing tubes of M&M's after the morning
services. . . enjoy the M&M's, then begin to fill the tube with your spare
quarters. Every time you drop a quarter in the tube, say a prayer for one of
the aspects of our upcoming choir tour to New York City. When the tube is full,
return it to the Church Office or the Music Office. You'll not only be
supporting the students financially, but you'll be sending them off completely
covered in prayer!

Opportunity
Knocks for Youth has urgent needs for male mentors for at-risk teens in 2
areas:
1)
One-to-one mentoring of foster care teens who reside in group homes. These
teens typically reside at the home from 9 to 18 months. You would work with an
assigned male teen to support & encourage his education, choices, goals,
& plans. Requirements would normally be attending our once a month
youth/mentor meeting (first Thursdays @ 6:00 pm) and a contact - phone or
personal- weekly.
2)
Join a "mentoring team" that would provide same for a group home with
short-term stay male teens. Duration of their stay is 2 weeks to 3 months. We
envision a monthly activity with the teens plus the regular monthly meeting.
The home has 3 to 6 residents at a time and we would NOT be assigning mentors
to a specific teen. This mentoring team can be quite flexible since not
all team members need not attend every activity. Please contact Dale Champion,
Director - 678-641-1968 or Bill Spell, Mentor coordinator - 404-245-2274. Thank you.
The
HOPE Center is in need of a washer, dryer and an under-the-counter type
dishwasher for their new facility. If you know of anyone who is getting
new and wants to donate please contact Sue Stone, 770-977-3273.

belts to wear on job interviews. Casual clothes, men's leather dress shoes and
new underwear & socks are also needed. Winter jackets, gloves and hats are
needed. Drop items off at the Missions trailer to the left of the CAC. Tax
receipts are available at the front desk of the CAC. For more information,
please contact Sam Smith at 770-565-8233.
Sign
up now for a mission trip to West Virginia. Two dates have been set and
more trips may be planned if necessary. Space will be limited, so look at your
calendars and join this very meaningful effort to assist the poor in the
Appalachia region of our own country. Activities on the 3-day trip will include
lunch delivery to children, food box preparation, sorting of clothing
donations, and more. Go to HOHM.org for more
information. Trip dates are April 29-May 2 and July 29-Aug. 1. Adults
and children over 14 are welcome. E-mail Larry Armstrong. Also,
please continue to support this ministry through donations to the Hands of Hope
collection trailer located on our parking lot. We especially need household
items (towels, linens, kitchenware, small working appliances, personal hygiene
items, decorative pieces, etc.). Please pack items in travel-ready boxes with
contents marked on outside.
