You're invited to our January Chapter meeting Thursday, Jan. 20th at 11:30am at Salesforce in San Mateo. Bren Boddy-Thomas, the HDI Western Regional Director, will be previewing the presentation she will be giving at this year's upcoming 2011 HDI Annual Conference in Las Vegas.
Meeting will be held in the San Mateo office of Saleforce. Lunch will be provided.

From Helpless Desk to Super Service Desk

There is enormous value in making your help desk the single point of communication for your company. But how do you get there? You don't want to do it Hungry Hungry Hippos-style, gobbling up every service area in sight. Instead, do it Red Rover-style and invite areas over one at a time.
In this session, Bren Boddy-Thomas will share with you how she started with a help desk and transformed it into a Super Service Desk. She will explain the steps it took to unify all areas of her company under one service desk, the challenges of supporting an entire company, and the successes they've had bringing it all together. You will be motivated to re-evaluate your current support operation. Can you do more? Can you build your own Super Service Desk?

About the Speaker
 Bren Boddy-Thomas has worked in the customer service industry for almost thirty years. Since 1993, she has been in customer service management at Exchange Bank, a small community bank in the California wine country. Not only does her unique Super Service Desk support IT, but they also support bank security, policies and procedures, new accounts, bank operations, facilities/maintenance, and telecommunications. Bren is a past president of the San Francisco HDI local chapter and she was recently elected to both the HDI Member Advisory Board, where she serves as the Western Region Director, overseeing all local chapters in the Western region.
