Art Remus was a wonderful man and nothing made that more  apparent than the words spoken by his grandchildren at his funeral yesterday. He lived a long life full of things he loved... his wife and family, the Coast Guard, politics, and civic and religious life in all forms. He was also a "father" to many Democrats in DuPage at large and in Addison township in particular and laid groundwork for our growing success there.
We offer condolences to his wife of 60+ years and will keep her in our thoughts. We will let you know what arrangements are being made to celebrate his memory in a more material way as soon as we find out from his family.

DAYTIME DEMOCRATS

The Daytime Democrats are involved in service opportunities and building and strengthening the Democratic community. We have been involved in learning about the activities of the county board, details of the election, and precinct committeeman responsibilities.  We're also involved in volunteer activities.

Our group meets during the day approximately once a month at party headquarters.  If you are interested, please call Shirley at 630-629-1125.

Dear DuPage Dems,

It is with great sadness that we mark the passing, this last week, of Art Remus, long-time chair of Addison Township and a man of renown in many circles throughout DuPage County.

We hope you will keep the Remus family in your thoughts during this time and we hope you will remember the zest with which Art lived and loved. He will be sorely missed.

I also want to say thanks to those who took the time to attend the funeral yesterday as I had an unbreakable commitment and was heart-broken at being unable to attend.

The week before we celebrated the life of William Andrle, also a great pioneer in Democratic politics back when DuPage was the real heart of darkness. Our condolences go out to his family as well and our thanks to him for all he did in his 50 years in DuPage politics.

We thank them and all of those who have come before us to spread, with great passion and dedication, our Democratic ideals and who did so with great compassion for those who need a government that helps them pursue lives worth living.

THANKS!

Bob Peickert, DPDC Chair
