Dear DuPage Dems,
First of all, PLEASE remember that the March Executive Committee Meeting will be held on March 12th at our usual venue IIT RICE LAKE CAMPUS. 7:30 p.m.
We are excited to be working hand in hand with local labor organizations to get out the vote for the upcoming April 7th. It has always been my vision to forge a very strong bond between labor, business and education in DuPage so that we can form a powerful, vocal block of people advocating for the needs of everyday people instead of serving the narrow interests of an increasingly small group of people already in power.
DuPage is the perfect microcosm of the inequity that has been occuring nationally and it is the perfect place to reverse that trend.
We support the aims of the COD candidates Kim Savage, Tom Wendorf, Nancy Svoboda and Sandy Kim to turn back the trend toward increasingly expensive and constrictive options for those wishing to improve their lives at the college. As the job market gets tighter, everyone you know may need the chance to remake themselves or raise their educational level and COD is just the place to start. Let's keep it an open, inexpensive, diverse place for a quality education.
We also support local business and the increasing efforts to keep our dollars in our own communities and will continue to highlight and support BLUE BUSINESSES in our area. If you or someone you know would like to advertise on this blast, contact us.
Together, we can weave a powerful fabric of united voices. Actually, it is our only option if we want to succeed in making DuPage not the "Pleasantville" that Republicans like to tell you it is but a real place of opportunity for all of us.
Let's get to work. Please support these candidates with your time and energy for the next few weekends.
Bob Peickert, Chair DPDC
