Dear DuPage Dems,

A friend of mine owns a sign business and has a saying: "If you can imagine it, we can do it." What an appropriate saying for the Democratic Party of DuPage County. We imagined DuPage County with elected Democrats on the County Board and we did it. We imagined a room, 3 to be exact, with 600 Democrats at our annual Presidents' Day Gala, and we did it. We imagined filling our precincts with precinct committeemen, and we did it. We imagined an office full of volunteers to help us mobilize more Democrats, and we did it. We really can do everything we imagine. But, it takes a lot of work.
Let's now imagine having Democrats elected to township government. We can do it. We can do it with the same hard work we employed to achieve our other "imagines". Everyone who reads this blast MUST contact your township chairs and let them know that you are willing to work so that we may achieve the balanced government we want and need in DuPage County. We need help walking precinct, phone banking, handing out literature at train stations, stuffing envelopes, and so on. Whatever your interest, we have work for you to do. And, we need to start now.
In addition to our township races, we need to change the leadership at the College of DuPage. Our candidates for trustees MUST be elected so that we can restore an educational system that has been abused by individuals who have misused their positions, violated the public's trust, and put their interests above those of the students. OUR children deserve better. OUR communities deserve better. Elect Kim Savage, Sandy Kim, Nancy Svoboda and Tom Wendorf.
On April 7, we can look back and say, "We imagined we could win, and we did."

Bob Peickert, Chair DPDC
