Pop Warner All-American Scholar Announcement

The 2011-12 Pop Warner All-American Scholars will be announced on both popwarner.com and Facebook on Wednesday, March 7 at 1 p.m. EST.

Each year, the most academically accomplished Pop Warner kids compete for Academic All-American status. The PWLS All-American Program requires a minimum 96% grade point average to apply for All-American status. After the applications have been processed, Pop Warner determines a National First Team (35 football, 35 cheer per grade), Second Team and and National Honorable Mention Scholars.

Pop Warner Executive Director Jon Butler
Named Honorary Member of AFCA

Pop Warner Executive Director Jon Butler was recently named an Honorary Member of the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA). Butler was inducted as an Honorary Member during the Schutt Awards Luncheon in January during the AFCA’s Convention in San Antonio, TX.

Butler has served as Executive Director of Pop Warner Little Scholars for 20 years. Under his leadership, Pop Warner’s participation numbers have more than doubled and the overall experience has significantly improved. Butler has spearheaded an expanded annual weeklong Super Bowl and National Cheer and Dance Championship, Coaches Education Programs and the Challenger Division for special needs youth.

Andy Dalton, Von Miller & Case Keenum Headline
5th Annual Pop Warner Panini Classic

NFL rookie sensations Andy Dalton and Von Miller were joined by record-setting University of Houston quarterback Case Keenum in headlining the 5th Annual Pop Warner Panini Classic skills clinic that benefited the Northern Indiana Pop Warner organization.

Dalton, Miller and Keenum spent quality time with more than 100 Pop Warner football players, running them through a gauntlet of hands-on drills and imparting pearls of pigskin and life wisdom that will no doubt enrich hundreds of lives long after Super Bowl XLVI leaves town.
