Pop Warner is pleased to share news of a new program from our youth football partner, USA Football. 

As some of you may know, USA Football is launching a membership program in early 2011 called League Affiliation.  USA Football League Affiliation will help leagues nationwide ensure a great and positive experience for their kids, coaches, commissioners and parents.

This new League Affiliation program replaces their old membership model.  We endorse this innovative program and we encourage you to research the benefits it offers. 

Within this offering, entire youth football leagues, including all coaches and players, will become USA Football members.  Also, all coaches (head and assistant) will be prepared to lead their teams and gain strong baseline knowledge of player safety – particularly regarding concussion – by completing USA Football’s standard tackle certification course or a recertification quiz if they’ve taken the course previously.

Also new for 2011, USA Football’s Player Progression Development Model (PPDM) – a first for football – introduces age-specific techniques and skills for players to master based on their physical and cognitive maturity as they develop through the sport. Through its League Affiliation membership, USA Football will deliver its PPDM to an entire league’s roster of coaches and players.

For a nominal $5 membership per coach and per player, all league participants receive membership to USA Football and gain access to all of their member benefits. These benefits include:
