50th Anniversary Scholar Banquet A Big Success in Philadelphia

The 50th Anniversary Pop Warner Scholastic Banquet was a huge success in Philadelphia on May 29, 2010 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center. Several awards were handed out to Julian Edelman, Bonnie Bernstein, Sinorice Moss, Pierre Garcon, Art McNally, the Pittsburgh Steelers and Sean Landeta. This year's event was also highlighted by new scholarships, presentations and the scholar presenter contest.

Pop Warner Scholarship Fund Nearing One Million Dollars

One of the biggest differences between Pop Warner Little Scholars, Inc. and other youth sports organizations is Pop Warner's commitment to academic excellence. Not only is Pop Warner the only youth sports organization that requires academic guidelines for its members to participate in its programs, but Pop Warner also honors its top student-athletes every year through the All-American Scholar program.

At this year's 50th Anniversary event, $109,650 was awarded to all 70 of this year's Pop Warner First Team All-American Senior Scholars, who represent grades eight and above. In addition, with this year's total Pop Warner has now awarded $814,300 in just 17 years...nearly one million dollars!

Inaugural Pop Warner National Convention in Philly

Just days before the 50th Anniversary Scholastic Banquet, Pop Warner held its first ever National Convention at the Downtown Marriott in Philadelphia. Pop Warner administrators, fans and parents enjoyed two-days worth of instruction, classes and speakers from the Pop Warner National Staff, league presidents and renowned experts in the field.
