| CPDE Endorsed by APMG and Awarded 1.5 ITIL Credits |
 On November 24, Loyalist Certification Services (LCS) announced Certified Process Design Engineer (CPDE) has been endorsed by the APM Group as a Complementary course to the ITIL Version 3 (V3) Qualification Scheme.
The CPDE qualification has been awarded a credit value of 1.5, which recognizes the alignment to V3 and can be used by candidates, who successfully achieve the certification, towards the ITIL V3 Expert Level of certification.
Successful candidates also earn a Certified Process Design Engineer designation and pin.

| Revisions to Core ITIL Books |
A hot topic of discussion is the recent announcement regarding plans  to update the core ITIL books.
The change log has been frozen and 312 issues will be addressed. Most are to correct inconsistencies across the books, clarify areas causing confusion and ensure the glossaries matches the text. Service Strategy will undergo some revision to make it more readable. No new content will be added.
There is no timeline for the update but the books will not be available until next year, at the earliest. Many are lobbying the OGC to release downloadable replacement pages for those who have already purchased the books. No promise on that but it has been suggested. Learn more |

 What is a Service? This is perhaps one of the most important yet challenging questions in all of IT Service Management. In fact, it makes ITSM possible (given the realization that it is IT Service Management).

Happiest of Holidays
The History Channel has a good explanation of the three December holidays (Hanukkah, Christmas, Kwanzaa). You can read about the history and traditions of each holiday.
