May Day Happy May Day
to all in the Tudor collecting world. Up
here in New Hampshire we are
lamenting - "Where, oh where, are those flowers of spring?" The snow was deep and has reluctantly left
our yard - or mostly so. There is still
a three foot wide patch slowly melting under one hedge. We give it two more days. Then it should all be gone.
We've had only
one bed of early dwarf tulips in bloom by the stone wall. They are so cheerful when we need it
most. And some small blue drops have
greeted us, too. The rest still seem to
be resting, even though peonies are pushing through. The grape hyacinths have hardly stirred. Ah Well !
Ah Spring!
