This 2,600 square foot, two story colonial located in Longmeadow, MA received a total exterior renovation from Pecoy Remodeling and Additions. The home now features 6" smooth NuCedar Classic Clapboard® and Classic R&R Shingles™ in Chatham Sand with Watch Hill White Trim.
The homeowners chose NuCedar for their home based on the recommendation of Kent Pecoy, owner of The Pecoy Companies who recently used NuCedar on the Extreme Makeover: Home Edition home in Suffield, CT. Pecoy is most pleased with NuCedar's durability and the lack of maintenance that it requires.
Dan Cashman, President of Trim Solutions, Inc. and his team of craftsman installed NuCedar on the home. Trim Solutions manufactures cellular PVC window and door surrounds, columns and other custom millwork that feature hidden fasteners.
When asked how the installation went, Cashman responded, "There were no issues - the clapboard installed very well and the shingles went up just like wood." NuCedar is in a class of its own - nothing can compare," he stated.

 The Product Guide was designed to showcase the authenticity of NuCedar products while serving as a comprehensive catalog for professionals and homeowners alike.

All NuCedar products come factory finished with Sherwin-Williams® Polane® making color choice an integral part of placing your order. NuCedar's 18 Popular and 6 Historic colors are shown in the product guide.

show highlighting the goals and accomplishments of individuals from Long
Island, NY.
Host Ingrid Lemme talks with Tom about his family life and how his dream
of starting a manufacturing company became a reality. She learns more
about how Tom worked his way through college as a truck driver for the
Southampton Lumber Company and ultimately ended up selling his fine
building products 'back home.'

This New House |
 NuCedar Mills was recently featured on the DIY networks series/season premiere of This New House, a news magazine-style series that focuses on innovative building materials and energy saving projects.
NuCedar was a perfect fit for the show as it is the first company in the building materials industry to introduce factory finished, premium grade, architectural siding, trim and millwork to the custom home and multi-family segments. NuCedar's lifecycle analysis outperforms traditional building products, and the value of a NuCedar home actually increases over time. No need for scraping or refinishing - ever. In addition, NuCedar is 100% recyclable, which is perhaps the ultimate in sustainable building.
In January host Kevin O'Connor toured NuCedar's 56,000 square foot factory in Chicopee, MA with Director, Supply Chain, Kerry Loper to learn more about how NuCedar Classic Clapboard® is milled and coated to very demanding specifications. VP, Sales Joe Biss gave a installation demonstration of Classic Clapboard®.

Clapboard Manufacturing Process
 NuCedar uses the latest in milling and coating technology to produce all of its products but we are particularly proud of our patented 'Process for Preparing Siding' that allows us to produce enough clapboard in-line to side a large custom home (32 square) in about 40 minutes. Using fully integrated mass customization technology, NuCedar can easily produce 8 homes per shift, in a variety of colors, with a level of precision that is truly unprecedented in the industry.
The coating process is unique to NuCedar in that NuCedar is the only company in the world that coats cellular PVC boards at 200' per minute. It took nearly six months of diligent process trials and formulation changes by NuCedar and Sherwin Williams to perfect this process. Polane® (Sherwin-Williams® two-part polyurethane coating) has been used by the US Military for almost 30 years because of its extraordinary ability to expand and contract with the thermo-dynamic substrates used on missles, aircraft and ground vehicles. But no one had ever asked Sherwin-Williams® to help them to coat cellular PVC, or for that material cellular PVC boards traveling at 200' per minute before NuCedar. The resulting process is an integral part of the patented NuCedar Process for Preparing Siding.
No one touches NuCedar clapboards until they are coming out of the oven; fully dried and ready to be shipped - so dry and hard that they can be shipped without slip sheets without fear of scratching during transit.

Over the past few months you may have noticed some changes to www.nucedar.com . As NuCedar has grown we have added new products and topics to the site and reorganized the information to make it easier to navigate.
One of the most notable additions to www.nucedar.com is a global navigation bar that runs across the top of each page. The navigation bar makes it easier than ever to explore all that NuCedar has to offer by allowing visitors to effortlessly browse from one page to the next.
The content and photos on nucedar.com have also recently been updated to reflect the company's evolution from simply a clapboard and trim manufacturer to a state-of-the-art sawmill. The Flash movie on the home has been enhanced with additional images and each product page has new information and product photos that can be enlarged when rolled over.
