Gemini, a mutable sign, is seasonally associated with the transition from spring to summer. The Sun is weakened as it enters Gemini this year which could translate into weather setbacks or surges although we have had some improvement. Since Venus is retrograde there is already a slowdown or setback in vegetation so that has been in synch. Mars has not yet recovered from its retrograde and is engaged with Neptune and Chiron so that does not support a robust spring. It is a bit of a pernickety scenario that is likely to continue changeable. To avoid spring colds do not put on your summer clothes just yet and carry a sweater. This is a good month to lose winter weight by keeping busy though.

It is an easier month. We have fewer shifts, pulls, tugs and tweaks. Mind you there is still a monumental amount going on in the background. Still we can enjoy the fewer frequencies. Mercury continues to skip through a few signs but we enjoy the variety. The only noticeable change of sign will be when Jupiter enters Gemini. If it were a fireworks display we would be preparing for a brilliant show. It can be fun and exciting. It multiplies busyness tenfold. Certainly the social tempo will pick up. The only issue is Venus retrograde and the affects it can have on self-centredness and a difficult relationship. She does however bring old friends back into our life and the opportunity to spend time with people we rarely see.

There is a Solar Eclipse on the day the Sun enters Gemini, which should be the day the newsletter is sent out if I am on schedule or the day after if I get this out earlier. While it continues to suggest we need to deal with the unevolved parts of ourselves it also promises great joy and liberation.

There is a Lunar Eclipse this Full Moon that helps us to see what self-indulgences are in our way so we can reach greater satisfaction and improved relations. We realise where we cannot continue to blame others. With the ball firmly placed in our own court we make progress.

I noticed that I missed mentioning Mother's Day last month. My apologies and respect to all forgotten mothers. But because of this error it occurred to me that every day is Earth Day; every day is Mother's Day, Father's Day, Easter, Christmas and all other honorary days rolled into one. 19TH With the Sun in the Gemini zone we are primarily concerned with information gathering and collecting; or expressing and sharing. Communication will be quantifiable. Our style of communication is permeated with fickle curiosity. We can be given to dialogue that varies from scholarly and academic to gossiping. Certainly we are more talkative, quick witted and humorous. In this constant state of busyness sometimes we speak too quickly instead of saying what we really think. We therefore may not have all the facts when we repeat information. It is due to being in a current of social superficiality. This multifaceted sign and its versatility will stimulate ever-changing interests. We want to know everything and do not want to be left out but get distracted easily.

20TH The New Moon Solar Eclipse in Gemini reveals the pitfalls we must avoid this month. It also has a magical power. It can redirect us from the path of least resistance, turn temptation into empowerment, and breakthrough self-indulgence and other self-justifying rationalisations. We identify with the new dimension of reality we come to perceive. We weed out our money wasters, slim down the budget and make our incomes work for the present rather than mortgaging our future. It is a tough love atmosphere that shakes up the stale and monotonous. It lights a fire under many who would otherwise be given to misadventure. It would be normal to feel confused about one's self, to feel dysfunctional and maybe even falling apart. We are forced into this disjointed overwhelm and simply cannot repeat ourselves in any consistent manner. It is okay not to be okay. We need to become observers of our own play as we change form.

We feel we should not be doing what we are but think we have to continue. When this dichotomy exists the hidden side is trying to tell us what is important. It is an easy mistake to blame others, especially if it is their idea, but it is better to renegotiate. This is not done rashly; it takes time to gather the idea and then to develop the confidence needed to step forward.

Ground-breaking energy will help us to make these new discoveries that revise our beliefs. Where we have felt different from others, we establish our uniqueness by stepping forward. If for whatever reason we are unable to make this shift we will likely become defensive, emotional indifferent and split to find a change of scene. Renewal is the theme. We either achieve it or we seek it as a means to an end. This influence does not go along or get along with the expected thing. We are gravitating toward methods of achieving balance. 24TH With Mercury in Gemini reasoning power is usually strong and curiosity intense. Our minds are full of questions from every point of view ~ this year more than most. The mind is made quick, more diversified, witty, eclectic and full of ideas. With any luck we will maintain our versatility. But Gemini can slide down an edge of worry sometimes, whatever mental pattern we have will become more augmented so we can become aware of it. Unfortunately we can become scattered and easily bored too. The focus, however, is on communication, dissemination of information, exchange of viewpoint and opinion or articulated debate.

Mercury in Gemini can be especially astute when it comes to arguing or making a point. It gives us the ability to skim the surface of a broad number of subjects and interests to produce some lively and far-ranging conversations about what is going on in the world. We certainly have lots to talk about. Inclined toward simultaneous involvements, wordplays, puns and negotiations our mind wants to be active; studying, reading, researching and exchanging with others. Write letters emails and journal entries, start a writing project, make short trips, get together with friends, or take a course to brighten the mind. If mental power is directed toward defined objectives then with consistency success can be attained in the direction of choice.

The Crescent Moon hails from Cancer making us a little more adventurous than usual, within safe parameters of course. We are duty bound to our relationships but longing for more freedom and personal relevancy. In the process of letting go of the old barriers and limitations we take baby steps toward renewal. Fears and misunderstandings ingrained in the past interfere with our self-worth and ability to accomplish. Overcoming them allows for great strides forward with our work, business or career. There are opportunities for increased revenues and the accompanying ability to pay down debt.

28TH During the First Quarter Moon we will mistakenly take other people's actions and words to be challenging and competitive but these will mirror our own ambition back to us. The mind is not our friend; it is given to all manner of weakness and needs restraint and discipline rather than self-indulgence. It is curious that immunity is very low and that we are susceptible to many passing germs and viruses. Perhaps the weather continues in its extreme pattern and we are not dressed warm enough for a sudden drop in temperature. In some regions the mild winter has allowed viruses to flourish. Those who worry too much will find their sleep patterns disturbed. We are ready, willing and able to act when necessary and desirous to pursue our goals but the atmosphere is soft.

29TH Juno and the North Node have been very close but now that Juno is retrograde it is backing away from the designator of our soul's path. This gives us time and space to work on unintegrated or misaligned aspects of our soul's relationship and commitment pattern. Linking into Jupiter our expectations will be inflated, our hopes, wishes and conditional demands magnified. This will make it blatantly obvious what we need to reconsider in our terms of agreement. What occurs now will help us to cleanse our soul of toxic memories, attachments and soul contracts. We work through many knots in our inner fabric in pursuit of more independence, self-reliance and modification of our sustaining convictions and standards. Likewise we review our faith based philosophical beliefs. This combination loosens up commitments allowing people to drift apart if they are not in league with each other. The down side is some people, mainly opportunists, will be encouraged to take advantage at another's expense. Also, appearances can be deceiving at this time, some like to pretend to be wealthy.

30TH Joy oh joy, our intellect and intuition are linked which is a great source of wisdom and inspiration. Also, enhanced social sensibilities are joining forces with our spiritual awareness. All of this affects our general view of current developments and inspires us to re-establish our roles. Our psychic receptivity is strong; along with increased sensitivity and compassion they provide us with enhanced transcendent perception. We will naturally gravitate toward causes. Where people will deter from this will be where victimisation involves pleasing others; it is hard to see they are only taking advantage of compliance. The evasions, pretences or deceptions employed to protect the status of this type of relationship will be flushed out. If we feel uncertain about the specifics necessary to achieve approval we need to open up these hidden areas. Also, know when others are just being nice but are not sincere.

31ST We are putting distance between us and our weaknesses by the Gibbous Moon so things should be coming together. There are expenditures that are necessary and financial worries that make it difficult to be positive. The unforeseen, unexpected and out of the blue can occur. Some people will use surprise as strategy. We grow beyond our past and are firmly footed in some aspects of our future. If we succumb to seasonal illness we will be able to work it through quickly. Some may decide to postpone, delay or cancel their travel plans.

June 1st Mercury making a reverse move on Venus can bring a brand-new approach. We are free to change our mind. It is time to rummage through our options to choose which to follow and which to discard. We need to acknowledge what we cannot get and stop chasing after it. By realigning ourselves to that which is within our reach we will gain more satisfaction. Relationships can break up with acceptance rather than sorrow. We feel the need to trim off the excess to sweeten our life.

4TH If there are any outstanding issues between ourselves and others they will come out by the Full Moon. This Lunar Eclipse recommends staying in rhythm with safety by planning ahead. With the consciousness of eons, that is wisdom extrapolated from the past, we can anticipate new events and ascertain future prospects. If we are following an inappropriate path and our opportunities lie elsewhere, we will come to that realisation. When pushed into a tight place we flex ourselves just to claim our autonomous space. Arrangements get changed if they do not honour and value us. We flex our self-realisation muscle with no clear objective but we will gain through happenstance. Take care of the back, do not overdo heavy labour or otherwise compromise back health.

We are entering the retrograde zone of Neptune where we can access a very laid-back ambient peace deep inside our heart and soul. It is easier to connect with the transcendent side of life. We are more fully accepting of things beyond limited labels. Instinctually we are cleaning the psyche, clearing out old issues, chasing down some clouds of confusion or anything that comes between us and realising our full potential. Psychic energies are stronger and this can cause some people to experience irritation or other non-descript states. We are picking up energies more easily, other people's thoughts and other such wavelengths. We have less protocol and erect fewer boundaries. This is good for dissolving limitations that are barriers to bliss. But a weakened immune system can get caught off guard. We are also more susceptible to react to foreign substances, drugs, medications or alcohol.

5TH We have a taste for trying out new recipes or restaurants and unusual foods. Many will decide to radically change their diets. It is easier to go on a weight loss program at this time as there is no resistance. There is a chance, however, that stress would upset digestion or interfere with the appetite. People are affected differently, some become ravenous and others cannot eat at all. It is a good time to take digestive enzymes.

Raising children in our modern age just keeps getting more challenging. Every generation demands a specific revaluation of rules, regulations and agreements. At this juncture, however, very important changes are taking place to the parent-child lifestyle. Most children are more individual and emotionally separate. Some of the instabilities that are possible are violence around children, peer pressure or nurturing panic and denial. Whatever the instability it is a destructive pattern that does not meet anyone's needs.

We and our children are dealing with difficulties that have to do with our parental ties. Some may seem impossible to resolve. However we can learn without the usual harshness and trauma. Increased internal tension is generated and some sort of paradox or riddle is likely to surface. Whether these energies are applying to one or both of the parents; or they are applying specifically to conditions of childhood; the purpose is to clarify ourselves to ourselves. We need to understand this process if it is happening for our children. The idea is to sort out obligation, duty, conditioning, sacrifice, expectation, pity, responsibility, tradition and social order issues by making a personal choice. No small undertaking. Whether we are young or old, the ultimate goal is to combine achievement and intimacy satisfactorily and harmoniously within our personal growth.

7TH Emotions have more of an effect on the mind with Mercury in Cancer. We also have more intuition, psychic receptivity or imagination. If we are around or near water it will increase reception. We speak more honestly about how we feel. We use discrimination to clarify ourselves over and above criticism and objection. The down side is fearfulness, storminess, petulance and brooding can be provoked too. If someone feels unappreciated they will withdraw. If any of these conditions prevail we need to seek calm and let things pass. Other possible involvements Mercury could generate are land dealings, involvements with siblings, or house hunting. Habitual thought processes, our own or those absorbed by osmosis from others, become more prominent and hopefully evident. Try not to take yourself too seriously in this regard; it is just the mind's retentitiveness that is repetitive.

The Disseminating Moon dictates pertinent information to us with a flourish. Where do we need to pull up our socks? In what area are we slouching? Those who are entrenched in withdrawal or introversion are the recipients of serendipity. Albeit pleasant and positive it is something to prepare for. We are cautious but also compulsive, a dichotomy that will not go unnoticed by many. We need to make sure we are on the same page as other people. There is a very great chance there are misunderstandings, a weak functional element or unhealthiness in relations. Sudden unexpected expenses will cost enough but luckily will not be too expensive.

The mother symbol becomes psychologically shrewd and too penetrating. If there are power issues within the parent/child/spouse dynamics then loyalties become torn. Whoever withholds support does so in an attempt to control. In order to calm the distress we need to claim our power within these deep emotional bonds. Food or nutrition can be used as a basis to alienate or control others. On the other hand we might choose to control our diet as compensation for other areas of life where we feel helpless or powerless. Giving away our power is too high a price for nurturance and closeness. But there can be situations beyond our control that force us into a caretaking role. There also can be events charged with psychological complexity and emotional intensity. If a natural birth must rely on c-section surgery at this time the mother can experience a sense of powerlessness.

10TH This is where unconditional acceptance meets with conditional relating. Differences over child-rearing come up between parents. Custodial issues surface with estranged parents. Loyalty issues create conflicting pulls in blended families. Stress arises for new parents between being the mate and being the parent. A merge has to occur between perception and need. Children can be used as pawns or as bargaining power within marriage. Conflicts that arise can be blamed on one or the other's childhood and perhaps the resulting attitude they have toward children. There can be conflicts surrounding meal schedules and food. Frustrations and dissatisfactions with one's marital or parental role will surface. The merger of these energies is designed to develop egalitarian partnerships and new role models. Subconscious images and social imprinting will need deconditioning. It keeps us locked in old response patterns.

11TH Our emotions get overruled during the Last Quarter Moon and we internalise the hurt, storing it up for future expression. Out of context emotions from previous encounters will not be understood if expressed now. The correspondences between then and now are relevant only to the beholder. We want to give our children everything that would make them happy. We are firming up our committed relations. We have positive prospects in sight. Again we must be careful not to hurt our back.

Jupiter enters Gemini enhancing the rational, analytical and logical aspects of knowing. At this time the mind takes over the reins. We may launch too many balls in the air, take on too many things and become incredibly busy and active trying to juggle everything. In this zone we are less aware of the emotional and intuitive aspects of knowing. We dissect things and rewrite them, this is useful if we are contemplating our childhood scripts and programs or other conditioning; otherwise it can be tedious. We look at all possible points of view. It is an insensitive influence, mind over matter, we have more objectivity and detachment. Communicating should not be a problem, however doing so with understanding and consideration is less fluent. Pranksters can manifest, jokers, as this is the realm of the coyote trickster archetype. But remember growth comes with communication and gaining knowledge not Gemini Schizophrenia. No matter what we do we are likely to fast dance with lots of energy.

Now that Chiron is retrograde we will magnetize and attract the healing and guidance we need. We go inside and heal the deepest darkest parts of ourselves that need our attention and acceptance and so transform these into usable energy. Chiron is the doctor that heals the wounds of our earthly incarnation by bringing these wounds to our attention and facilitating their release by focusing our intention and presence rather than avoiding. We probably seek sanctuary to get busy. On the mundane level, old wounds are likely to revisit, either subconsciously in the form of memory or through similar event. This is an opportunity to release old woundedness so we can move forward with a greater wisdom. We turn large matters into small ones which eventually lead us to wholeness. Chiron retrograde causes us to look within in order to heal ourselves. We experience a major transformational emotional, mental and spiritual shift.

13TH When we run into another stumbling block we need to ask what is worth it? In the planning or decision making stage we think and feel one way but follow another plan. Look at the hidden side of values and desires. They will tell us what is important to us. Naturally we feel we are not handling the situation well, according to the way we should, or that those who created the plan are at fault but in actual fact we are called to take stock and most likely renegotiate the situation. In time and with confidence we need to step forward and align all things.

15TH This Balsamic Moon is rich with promise. We need to get our inspiration caps on and spend time in meditation or reflection to gather the seeds of wisdom. Short term goals are more important than long range objectives. We achieve mini-steps toward them. While we are not all that sure of ourselves we are attempting to strengthen our structures and commitments to suit our own image. Sweet dreams can inspire waking thoughts. We will promote ourselves. We can steer round power struggles or controlling people who want to enlist us when we are creatively idling.  

17TH Happy Father's Day

18TH Deep seated resentments affect our attitudes. Jealousy, attachment, obsession and other stormy passions increase our vulnerability. We carry around with us long standing power struggles not only from this lifetime but from other lifetimes or our ancestry. We are not fully conscious of these relationship patterns passed down through generations. What happens now is the intensity and passion of the pattern will build and the struggle will increase until it is broken down, resolved or let go. We will work with our psychology to render its tapestry into a beauty-scape. There is a violent and destructive side to these energies that make decision making difficult. We need to fuse passionate intensity with vulnerability and share power equally to be able to truly unite with others. Our morphic changes can stimulate some remarkable dreams, visions, meditations and inspirations. Mutual trust brings great depth, beauty, fusion, forgiveness and healing. We will be working on relationship patterns, karmic attachments and soul-connections.

Hurry up and stop. Wait, idle, go then stop. Such bottlenecks of energy require restraint and self-control to deal with the frustration. The purpose is to keep us from accelerating inappropriately before the green light. Get vehicle brakes checked, they will be working overtime. These are energies of endurance, strength and persistence but the halting side of this experience is likely to create outbursts, frustration, noisy rants and recklessness. There is naught to be done so do not totally abandon decorum in a hasty reaction to stop backs. Find the middle ground, the balance point and hang tough. Develop better strategy and methodology; acknowledge limitations and reformulate.

19TH New Moon The Sun is not yet in Cancer when the Moon initiates a new lunar month. Two new moons in Gemini in one month can create inconsistencies and other warps. Certainly it shakes up the molecules of our stale synapses but it is unnerving and discombobulating. We have to turn within to create calm waters within the soul. Dissolve fear, worry, dread and lack of belief. Friends and social events may be plenty along with temptations and indulgences. This is not the time to stay at home. Some can party too hard and tax the health.

Everyone is different. No matter how long we have been in relationship there are parts of our significant other that remain individual and sometimes unknown. We focus so much on the similarities, the bonds; our uniqueness waits on the shelf. The unexpected that will occur in our relationships now will be related to these suppressed or infrequently expressed facets of self. The need for individual freedom can inadvertently cause outbursts, acts of indifference, ruptures and disruption as we are compelled to do our own thing. It is significant that Juno is retrograde but this also lends to the increased drama. Adjustments within relationship will create reconnections. Misalignments are sorted. If relationships were to break up because of this influence they were not examples of right relationship nor fulfilling soul contracts.

Events that occur now will help us to weed out energy wasters. What will be triggered are issues of cooperation versus competition. The masculine expressions within our relationship patterns are being augmented so we can make better choices. Things like scorekeeping, getting even and pursuing self-interests. Where these attitudes hang in the air like a dirty sock naturally fears related to abandonment and infidelity can misread the dramatic, active, assertive and aggressive. We will experience the impact of different energy levels; different interests, different activities, the presence of anger and how it is expressed. The purpose is to manage these old routines in a new and better way. Where relationship is in good stead we defend and protect them.
