How to Use The Planetary Alchemist
The Planetary Alchemist is broken down into four sections. First there is the Introduction where I give my thoughts on the month ahead in summary.
Where Are The Planets Now* is an article updated monthly that tracks the planetary occupation of the signs, the direction of the planets and duration.
Calendar of Days with Influences is a journal that outlines the combining planets on the days they occur chronologically. By following this presentation we stay in tune as the month unfolds.
Finally, each sign has a forecast for the month starting with the sign the Sun is in now and progressing through each sign of the zodiac. Each Sign's Monthly Forecast is a series of koans that follow the chronological order of the journal of days with influences. The Sign Forecasts delineate the positions of the planets for each member of the zodiac and suggest how they will customise specifically in each case. Understanding how the days are influenced generally as well as specifically helps us to make articulate choices and understand others as well as ourselves. It is advisable to read the forecast for the Sun, Moon and Rising or Ascendant sign for your birth.

Where Are The Planets Now?
The SUN is in Capricorn until January 20th, 2011.
MERCURY is in Sagittarius retrograde in motion until December 29th. Old territory is retraced until January 17th, 2011.
VENUS is creating new tracks in Scorpio. It will enter Sagittarius on January 7th, 2011.
MARS is in Capricorn until January 15th, 2011 when it enters Aquarius.
JUNO is in Virgo. It turns retrograde January 19th, 2011. It will turn direct May 31st, 2011. Juno enters Libra July 27th, 2011
CERES is in Capricorn until January 3rd, 2011 when it enters Aquarius.
PALLAS ATHENA is in Capricorn until March 10th, 2011 when it enters Aquarius.
VESTA is in Sagittarius and will enter Capricorn Jan 28th, 2011.
JUPITER is in Pisces until January 22nd, 2011 when it will re-enter Aries June 4th 2011.
SATURN is in Libra until October 5, 2012 when it enters Scorpio.
CHIRON is in Aquarius. It will enter Pisces on February 3rd, 2011. Here it will help us heal our spirit and all wounds. The Aries point will be reached April 19th 2018 but regression into Pisces occurs September 27th, 2018. So we will not begin a new era with Chiron until February 19th 2019.
URANUS is in Pisces; it will turn direct December 5th 2010 and find its way back into Aries by March 12th 2011 where it will supercharge our reality for about seven years.
NEPTUNE is in Aquarius. It enters Pisces February 3rd, 2012 which should be a blessing for many. Neptune will enter Aries around 2025.
PLUTO is in Capricorn until 2024

Greetings!
Welcome to the Winter Solstice. What joy there is in realising that the Sun is returning and giving us a little more light each day! The Sun, that God or the universal forces gave us, assures the northern climates that there will once again be vegetation and warmth. It is something to celebrate!
We are rounding the corner on many of the intense planetary configurations of 2010 but they are not yet out of operational range. We need to keep ourselves aware of how important each choice and decision can be. So this is why I say that 2010 is not over until spring 2011. For me spring is the New Year anyway as it is the beginning of the zodiac. So keep in mind that even though we turn over the calendar to a new year we are still culminating the work we are doing on our groove. The best resolution would be completion.
Most of the phases of the Moon are in a critical mode this month. But other than that the interactions between planets are more positive. We can make headway because there are fewer bumps. The problematic influences that do arise are for remedial purposes. The planets creating the chaos and uproar of 2010 make their final communion early January and then begin to separate. As I said, their influence is not over just yet. Big shifts will come again in February. In March we settle into the energetics of the next seven years. Much is talked about the Age of Aquarius. Also under discussion are the predictions for 2012. The fear and worry most people have about 2012 can be seen in the chaos and uproar the world is presently in. We definitely face the end of an era which means we are beginning another.
The brotherhood of man is depicted as the humanitarian side of the sign Aquarius. This is what we are working on, it does not just come. As we can all see we are in that stewing pot. We are and have been working most directly with the two rulers of this sign. One is order and the other is chaos and necessity is the source of invention. Along with being the source of innovation, alternatives and possibilities Aquarius is the gifted inventor of new forms. Individuality is the keynote of the operating energies. We see this in everyday life where order and tradition are disappearing. The good news is that we will once again find balance but maybe not until after October 2012.
On a personal note I wish to say how much I enjoy my work. It gives me great pleasure to be available to people in a time of need. Seeking answers is what drew me to this work. I wish to thank everyone who consults with me for their trust and faith. I am honoured by your support. When I am unavailable due to circumstances beyond my control, which is inevitable in anyone's life, it hurts me deeply. This will occur again for me during January 2011 when I will be undergoing and recovering from surgery. I am very happy to have my kittens to comfort me!
It is beyond my ability to say exactly when my recovery will be, the doctor says about two months as there is follow-up therapy, but from my chart it looks like I will be back to work somewhere between mid February and the first week of March. Hopefully sooner if I can at all manage it! The order desk on my web site is suspended to avoid mistake and you will find my voice mail message will advise you that I am not booking sessions. Calendar of Days With Influences
21ST SUN ENTERS CAPRICORN Happiest Winter Solstice! We need it more this year! The days will begin to get longer, our light will be increasing. The Sun has recessed as far south as it will go and now it turns around to return to the northern climates. For those reading this in the southern latitudes; we know we are on different shifts as the Sun dances between us. In Capricorn the Sun is skirting the borderline between the two latitudes and we are encouraged to recondition our boundaries. A sense of authority motivates our ambitions and we are willing to be more practical, pragmatic and hard working to reach our goals. Responsibility, duty, honour, tradition, obligation, structure are all keywords of the influence of this sign. We are encouraged to be over-achievers which will make us competitive and determined. The seriousness of this energy field can be converted into unexpected humour that makes light of the onerous facets of life. All too often however this manifests as cynicism. If our expectations are disappointed we can surprisingly feel guilty and immensely irritated. Find beauty in nature, appreciate its beauty and soak in its happy song.
22ND The guardians at the gates of incarnation and reincarnation have us in survival mode; making choices according to what we consider vital or of primary importance. We can only save what is valuable from the past as we create a new model for future generations to carry on. A singleness of purpose has been developing because of the need for sacrifice. Sacrifice is needed in order that we might survive and provide for the security of ourselves and our intimate others. It is a delicate individual balancing that must be achieved.
We see consequences in the imbalance of global warming within nature and mankind. Our survival depends on balance. We receive a prompting to develop our relationship with the natural resources of the earth. This really does take us back to our pagan roots where a balanced relationship with nature was paramount and males and females enjoyed an egalitarian society. It is an interesting presentment. With our involvement in the present day dilemmas comes the awareness that we are all bound together on this Earth. We are interdependent on goods and services; with no nation self-sustaining therefore survival depends on cooperation and interdependence.
This is definitely a critical point, a point of choice and tipping point. We are developing our incarnational purpose so any dilemma needs resolution to acquire the strength of character that is meant to be. A commitment to our path is all we need. Our decisions will be important enough to have an effect on our reincarnational component, which is our next life's destination and state. We are creating it at the same time as we are meeting our evolutionary lessons. Difficult choices have to be made under great opposition and most probably without support and approval which makes it emotionally unsettling.
We will be sensitive to the underdog and be willing to fight for their right to be nurtured. We will nurture the underdogs whether they want it or not. The desire to take care of others tends toward excessive. What will our world leaders do with this one? Their idea of care giving can sometimes mean going to war for the people who need the care. When we approach the idea of helping others we come from our own perspective. We give the help we think they need. How many times have people given us suggestions to help us? They are kind but not applicable to our situation. It would be better to think in terms of asking others what would best help them rather than presupposing we know.
Motive behind action is important. If we are evasive, it will not reinforce our position, it will provide discouraging consequences. If we discover for ourselves that we have taken the wrong path then we need to change course. The important point is we need to evaluate on our own terms without self-recrimination and give credit where credit is due. Confront things without caving in and feeling hopeless. Yes there will be consequences from past actions that will not go away. We need to confront them. We must not give into the stressful feeling of doubt, discouragement and inadequacy.
We will be irritable and have low energy. We can experience physical strain, allergy, minor infection or chill and fever. While we do not feel we can relax or rest we also cannot force ourselves into doing what we do not have the energy to do. Avoid confrontations with others, they will not settle anything. Conserve energy and confront fear.
23RD What we thought we understood we do not know anymore. We wonder what the truth of every matter actually is. The impulses or risk-taking we are quick to act on will be against our better judgement. Old patterns, wounds, blockages, complexes, anger or unresolved issues are triggered with the intention of transmuting them. How we handle the restless clash of competitive instincts, ideals and values will set us apart from others as well as from who we used to be. Wherever things are broken we can figure out how to fix it by thinking unconventionally
There can be either great pain or great anger in this process. Letting go, authenticating our expectations and accepting diversity means we have to be willing to; be a maverick, follow the pioneer within, take a risk or choose an avant-garde path. Whatever life hands us; we need to find a way to make it work in a way never before tried. We need to follow our instincts, reach for more freedom and let innovation lead us toward a broadening that expands our horizons of what can be. Instead of settling for what there is, we need to be the perpetual seeker of what can be created.
For some this influence can encourage passive-aggressive behaviour. Otherwise it can lead to bullying, criticism, quarrels, breaking the rules, defensiveness, wearing blinders and being one-pointed.
24TH DISSEMINATING MOON Even though this phase is intense, it will be excellent for guiding us to where we need to be. We are seeking a way to be self-sustaining by finding a way to provide for ourselves that does not have to rely or depend on others. We are thinking more for ourselves and focused on what service we can provide to an ailing economy to net an income. Many people are reinventing themselves wherever redundancy has become evident. Future "battle plans" will be drawn up. Strategically sound far-reaching well engineered action plans will be well researched and developed. There will be increased income for those who put their thinking cap on a little differently. This will not happen if we are a chameleon, a sheep or part of the herd following consensus mentality. There will be as many contracts broken as new contracts drawn up. Think about that. Who, why and how are the questions that will lead us to new thinking.
25TH MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY YULE TIDE {Dec. 24-Jan 6} TO ALL WHO CELEBRATE THIS DAY! Winter Solstice for our ancestral pagans was a time of feasting and exchanging of gifts. In Goddess worship, this is the time of the birth of the Divine Sun child who will be all things. They celebrate the returning light of the Sun. With the Christian religions it evolved into Christmas, and the birth of Jesus. But there was also Mithras who is an Iranian god of light and the cosmic order who assists in the battle against evil, and he was said to have been born December 25th. This deity eventually became the divinity of the Sun but how, when or why this occurred is uncertain. It matters that we believe in the powers that be! How we celebrate perhaps does not matter as much as the fact that we all come together at this time in celebration of Great Spirit. Be at peace in this thought.
26TH Not all humanitarian efforts are fulfilling their positive mandate. We will become aware of the futility or failure in some cases. The energies and influences of the planets indicate that we will become conscious, original and innovative in our approach to caring for others and developing family or social structures. Using intuition into human nature as opposed to conscription to a definition of correctness, we can establish rapport with people of various race, belief and nationality. Our significant relationships also cannot follow old standards of committedness. We are inspired to explore a multi-dimensional and more enlightened style of relating. Old role models, parental or otherwise fade in their dominance over our committed relationships.
27TH LAST QUARTER MOON Giving way to what must be was never easier than with this phase. We are all played out and cannot struggle against whatever wants to reel us in. For the most part this is a creative and value-added experience. It is the part of the journey where it is useless to fight back and fortuitous if we surrender. But in the everyday world please beware of the swindler, the illusionist, imposter and watch for concealed dysfunction, counterfeit, or misrepresentation. Old friends or nostalgic situations can drag us back to a previous place. This will remind us of where we do not want to be. It is time to claim our freedom from the old and redundant. Let go of whatever has no future value so what does have value can be carried forward. This is a good time for weeding out what is not working, for letting go of lost causes, and for redefining our relationships if we realise what we want or expect from them. We need to know where we stand. The goal in partnership should be to work as a team rather than as adversaries. We all too easily forget this.
29THBlocks to our efforts are a signal to stop and analyse priorities to ascertain the most productive course of action. Responsibilities will increase and so too the difficulties that make them frustrating. Authority figures apply pressure and limitation. We need to review what has gone before to see the root cause of our current situation. It is well advised to assess one's self. Especially about the previous use of free will. Consequences are not always acknowledged. Indecision, imaginary fear, emotionalism, inner doubt and nervous inhibition will cloud our perspective. We are driving with one foot on the brake and one of the gas pedal. We are attached to the very thing we want to break free from. It is time to make adjustments. Struggling inner energies can lead us to accident or illness. As we think so we create.
There is a more natural flow and obvious support within marriage. Honouring each other's differences helps to develop more egalitarian partnerships and assists in letting go of each other so each can move forward in their own direction. The ability to accept each other unconditionally helps to blend two lives together. Those announcing their intentions to marry can look forward to a deep, mutually nurturing marriage. These positive influences will help marriage and relationship ease the strife of the recent past. Greater comfort and support is available. Children and step parents within extended families can be accepted and integrated more readily.
MERCURY DIRECTMercury, which represents our mind, can regain a certain degree of focus as it turns direct. We have been lacking in this ability of late. Our perspective turns outward once again and opens to a variety of differing viewpoints allowing us to scan ideas, events and experiences for whatever rings true for us. Becoming curious we are willing to listen. We can comprehend another's way and observe how they weave the experiences of life into higher understandings. We are consciously choosing different pathways, variety instead of familiarity and a different way to coordinate our mind, feelings and lives with a more fulfilled sense of purpose.
31ST BALSAMIC MOON We get in touch with our inner guidance which helps us to construct new personal goals. Businesses as well as spiritual inclinations are lucrative products of our imagination. It could be said that we are guided to our most important next step. It is productive to work on our organic essence, our true self and carve out any contaminations. A change of mind as well as a change of plan will take us on a journey of discovery. We need to heal ourselves and all that ails us by attending to our most valued intentions. 2ND The powerful charisma and personal power generated by these planetary configurations can make us very articulate. There is great intensity and profound psychological impact in personal expression. We can have a strong impact on our target market through our mental-creative abilities. If we turn this energy toward socio-cultural contribution or activism we wield support that can be a tipping point in favour of our cause. Insight into the human psyche is transforming. We get to the bottom of power issues. Support groups have a profound effect. We make progress in recovering from any type of abuse. These insightful influences support artistic and cultural awareness as well as social reform. Ideas have the power to transform reality! Our minds can be renewed and regenerated and it will be a welcome relief.
3RD CERES ENTERS AQUARIUSBeing with friends is a nurturing experience. Enjoying each individual's uniqueness is a pleasure. But the actual care giving that is received by others may be erratic. The needy may be ignored due to other priorities. This brings up issues of abandonment which lead to the ultimate solution; detachment. So difficulties in intimate relationship will center on weirdness and make us feel disconnected. Children and the child within are rebellious and can be prone to run away. The self-determination in this influence fails to see the rights of others because originality and uniqueness is of greater value. Given enough scope for individual choice and backed up by fail-safe guidelines we can achieve cooperative independence. It will help if we embrace the eccentricities of others with the same acceptance we want for ourselves.
Obstacles, delays and deadlines with work can cause us to feel alienated from others. Self-control or self-discipline is required in connection with our career. We experience issues regarding rules and expectations. Impersonal father-type relationships have unresolved residue requiring objectivity to see clearly. A lack of closeness and indifference can trigger feelings of inadequacy, inhibition or fear. We are struggling if we take things personally. We develop self-containment if we can detach from machinations and reactions and become committed to healthy and constructive goals. History, spirituality, tradition, belief and faith are all wrapped up in each other as we work on the framework of our chosen spiritual path. This is a good time to find a teacher and to build devotion.
4TH NEW MOON SOLAR ECLIPSE This is intense without a doubt. The airwaves are filled with high tension, chaotic incongruence and situations that will test our wits. If there is a lesson we need to learn this eclipse will change conditions of our lives to make it so. We are in relationship with fate and must take responsibility for making our life more whole wherever necessary. For those with few or little pressures, stressors or demands this can be a fun filled adventure packed expense. For those on the sliding scale of soul growth this will be a slice of the karmic pie. Our past dictates a great deal about what this eclipse will alter in our lives. Since we are dealing with what could be considered "magnetic" forces they find their target according to vibration. A vibrational alteration is what we are seeking. So many things can change in our day to day lives and some are out of our control. This is symbology of a new start so anything that comes to an end leaves room for such an initiation. Plans will change and schedules too, people may not be reached easily and we do not feel "right". The oddities that we experience are helping us grow and expand beyond our limitations and convictions.
We are experiencing the third and final awakening conjunction in this series. The previous two were in June and September 2010 and those were stressful because they focused on misfortune and catastrophic event. Anxiety and sleeplessness as well as impulsive ego-centric urge were unleashed. But now the more positive side of this conjunction should manifest. The positive mix of great leaps in self awareness, optimism, new discovery and religious or spiritual enlightenment are aided by lovely and peaceful affection. This should be a good omen for exciting opportunity in love relationship.
Things flow more easily, in a well balanced and harmonious fashion. We can expect growth in financial matters, which may be quick. I would think the overall influence to be positive for the stock market. High optimism investors who hope to make some quick money on exciting new opportunities get the chance. But we are working with the "appearance of things" not reality so trading is for the well seasoned who have dispensable assets not for those with a nest egg. Over idealism in both relationships and financial matters is a downfall.
In relationship, because the heart is ruling the head, we project onto others an ideal and do not see them for who they really are. An over abundance of hope and excitement may cover over any flaws or troublesome points. Sudden changes in fortune and restlessness help us to investigate new avenues of thought. Here are some of the catch words; surprise, reform, freedom, chaos, sudden opportunity, leap to escape, unreliability, inconsistency and change. We will experience the unexpected or desire to recapture freedom from responsibility. Idealism, new thinking, ingenious solution, technological advancement, social or global change and major transformation is spawned. But so is the revolutionary cause. Travel opportunities can open up or close down
7TH VENUS ENTERS SAGITTARIUS Fun loving interest in playing games or simply being enthusiastic our flexibility inspires us to crave something new. Relationship can expand as well as our personal taste in clothing, art or home decoration. Free spiritedness enters the relationship realm so people simply need more space to find themselves or express their true selves. It takes nothing away from us to give it to them if it is within reason. Boundary crashing and the verbal foot in mouth dance are symptoms of taking this energy too far out of bounds. We can be drawn to nature, sports, plants, stones or wild life as in zoos. Observe what others do when you give them too much rope. It is a worthwhile exercise during this occupation. This high moral plane inspires a connection with the divine and the development of unconditional compassion. Our hearts can grow through mindful sharing and loving receptivity. Art and music take us out of our normal bounds and we want whatever is natural, large and impressive.
8TH CRESCENT MOON This is a threshold opportunity as we have one foot on either side of what has been and what will be and there is little else but the power of inspiration between the two. We will dramatically demonstrate our own redundancy to impress ourselves of what we want instead. It is not easy letting go of some of the small things we cling to. We can justify and rationalise ourselves into abeyance. There is nothing mellow about our planetary alignments. We are activated on multiple levels in a diverse way. We may bounce from one pocket or facet of self to the next but never find our comfort zone for long. While there is still promise in this phase, it lies in the dormant realisations that await our discovery.
12TH It is time to be innovative, original and inventive because we can experience remarkable breakthroughs, insights and unconventional initiatives. When society and the economy are breaking down the revolutionary intent is part of the evolution. Whatever is not working needs to be usurped. The mold is being broken. If we find ourselves in a redundant position then we need to find a service of relevancy to these modern times that we can offer. Many a millionaire of today was made of hard times and innovative thinking not to mention taking a risk. Extreme energy is passing through us so our reactions to people, events and performance will be sharp. Anarchy is possible as we are highly charged toward independently doing our own thing. We will learn from our mistakes. This very high energy leads to pointless, disruptive, friction-filled activities and definitely the static can cause disconnection. So things are difficult to coordinate. There can be excitement and change of routine.
FIRST QUARTER MOON The impetuousness of this phase is channelled through a self-absorbed and self-centred short-sightedness. A short fuse and inadequate wick creates clumsiness. It is difficult to root one 's self on a solid basis because we are on shifting ground. As commitments are broken through no particular fault there is acceptance on all sides. A deeply seated resolve helps us to sway with the wind and gather new contributions to our cause as we skip through, around and by flashes of insight. Most of all we need to get a grip of our financial position. We cannot rely on our old systems and vehicles of investment. The economy's karma is what we are dealing with. Rather than point a finger or kick the can; we need to knuckle down and find great enjoyment in small pleasures.
13TH MERCURY ENTERS CAPRICORN If taking care of details has been a problem, this is the time we have been waiting for. We get to the things we have wanted to do. Mercury in Capricorn makes our minds more systematic. We get linear, logical and organized! Make lists of things to do or just brainstorm with large paper and crayons. Putting it on paper will help us be more objective. We can easily see what we need to do next. With a focus on strategy it is easier to map out the steps to manifest our goals. This is a great time for accomplishment particularly if the focus is on writing, speaking or any form of communication.
14TH Some things should and will be winding down; coming to a fork in the road or reaching their culmination. Timing is good and these endings are happy, positive and productive accomplishments. Opportunities come unbidden and favourable circumstances point the way to new projects. Developing new advantages is the way to go. New connections open up out of old business, commerce, negotiations, dealings with authorities or legalities. Develop new proposals to blaze new trails with this lucky aspect. Reach out to expand the circle of everyday life. Large shifts are made effortlessly and easily. We cooperate more straightforwardly, enjoy gatherings and want to make others feel better too. Powers of persuasion are enhanced, physical energy is high and our good spirits should bring good health.
