Volunteer Reception Center
Prepares for Disasters
|
Trident United Way is working with county emergency  management partners on an innovation to manage "unaffiliated" volunteers following a disaster.
The volunteer reception center will prevent the second disaster that sometimes occurs when untrained volunteers flood a site without any plan to use their skills.
TUW's 2-1-1 Hotline, which already takes an active role before, during and after disasters, is spearheading the Volunteer Reception Center. Look for more information in future newsletters.
