The Tornado Aftermath |
Trident United Way (TUW) and its partners -- Lowcountry Food Bank, Strawberry Assistance Center, the Salvation Army, the American Red Cross and local churches -- sprang into action following the tornado in March.
Together, these organizations provided food, clothing, shelter and hope for the families whose homes were damaged or destroyed in the Strawberry mobile home community of Goose Creek. Several of the families have been left with nothing.
TUW has committed $25,000 to help the affected families and provided various supplies for them in the days immediately following the storm.

Remembering Jerry Zucker
|
The Lowcountry lost a community giant this past weekend when philanthropist, inventor and businessman Jerry Zucker died at the age of 58.
Jerry helped so many people and organizations in the Lowcountry, including Trident United Way. He served on the TUW board and chaired the Tocqueville Society. Jerry and his wife Anita have made the largest gift yet to TUW's endowment.
Jerry believed strongly in Living United. His myriad good works will live on through the many, many people whose lives he touched.
