2008 Golf Show, A Chance To Win Free Golf & Spring Conditioning

It's been a cold and snowy winter here at Caledon Country Club, but the thick layer of snow helps protect the course until spring which, believe it or not, is less than six weeks away!  We can't wait to get the course ready for your first round of the season, and look forward to catching up with everyone after a long winter!

New Irrigation System & More Yardage For 2008
We've got lots happening in 2008, including the start-up of our new irrigation system (which will help us keep the greens and fairways lush, even during the dog days of summer), and the lengthening of the course to over 6500 yards.

2008 Events, Promotions & Demonstrations
There's also lots planned throughout the season, including events, promotions, demonstrations & sales, so be sure to check out our 2008 schedule.  And be sure to check back regularly, as we'll be adding new events throughout the year!

TIPS FROM THE PRO Kevin Purcell
Get A Winter Tune-Up

Golfers know that the winter months can be tough when the links are covered in snow and you are counting the days to get back on the course! However, these "off" months are a good opportunity to put into motion a golf exercise or conditioning program that will help prepare your body for the upcoming golf season.

A well-balanced training program will benefit you not just on the course but in your everyday life, as well.    Consider the following areas of training in preparation for the golf season:

Strength or Resistance Training
Improving your strength helps improve your overall control and balance, which are essential to your game.

Flexibility
All golfers know the critical importance of a good swing and improving your flexibility will help you improve your swing mechanics.

Stamina & Cardiovascular Training
Cardiovascular training helps boost your energy and stamina.  This is especially beneficial to golfers who like to "walk" the course.

There's no getting around it - fit golfers are better golfers!  And starting a year-round golf conditioning program now will pay dividends when the season rolls around.   Talk to a CPGA Golf Professional, or inquire at your local gym or fitness centre, about golf conditioning programs to help you get in tip-top shape for the 2008 golf season!

See you soon!
