A new decade, a new start, a stronger sales year!
But wait, before we move forward - have you stopped to reflect
and celebrate your successes in 2009?
Each year, I was so excited to achieve my sales goal. My boss would say - "Congrats Lisa," and in the next breath "I know you can do even better next year!" ...and I would. What I have learned from reflecting on these experiences is the importance of taking the time to celebrate success before moving on to our next lofty goal.
Let me share with you an inspiring client story about Greg Hawkins, the president of Centaur VA Animal Health, who so believes in his sales team and the importance of celebrating their success. We kicked off their new fiscal year at their Sales Conference, this past November. Greg is investing in his sales team with new sales tools, training & coaching. In preparing for this sales conference, we talked about the ideal outcome he wanted to achieve in 2010. He wanted to create a winning sales culture. At this conference, he shared his vision for the company with the entire team. Greg is so committed to achieving the sales & margin goals and so believes that his team will accomplish it, that he presented each person with a bottle of Dom Perignon champagne to celebrate with next October. With his sales team in complete shock and open mouths - he began to create a picture of how they would celebrate their sales successes toasting champagne. He loves the fall, so he pulled out his blackberry and scheduled next Oct 20th 2010 at 2:00PM as the day we would be drinking champagne under the beautiful maple tree in the backyard of the quant resort in Southwestern Ontario where our sales meeting was, with his favourite cheese and strawberries. Wow, what an incredible leader who has put such faith in his sales team. What are your goals for 2010? How will you create a strong selling year? How will you be a 10 in 2010? What will you do to celebrate your successes? How committed are you to achieving your goals? Join us for our complimentary webinar on January 8th to learn how you can be a "10 in 2010"
