Economics. It's on everyone's minds these days and here at the Waterfowl Festival, we have good economic news to report.
Making An Impact:
The Waterfowl Festival Economic Impact Study

In 2000, the Waterfowl Festival was reported to have an economic impact on Talbot County from out-of-county visitors estimated at $5 million for the 30th annual Festival.

The study was updated last year and determined that while attendance was down 8% from 2000, visitors' economic impact on Talbot County in 2007 was up 16% to $5.8 million.

Other figures revealed in the updated study are also noteworthy and can be found here.

Thanks to all of our donors, amazing volunteers, exhibitors and staff who maintain the Festival's excellence that keeps visitors coming back for more!

$5 Million Mark Reached in Grants
Waterfowl Festival reaches significant milestone

With this year's Conservation Grants, the amount that has been distributed from the proceeds of the Waterfowl Festival and its Donor Program since its founding in 1971 has reached a milestone of $5 million. We are grateful to all the visitors, volunteers, and generous donors who have played such a tremendous role in our attainment of this milestone.

Special thanks and congratulations are extended to Vance Strausburg for his efforts chairing our Appropriations Committee and for being named the Maryland Ducks Unlimited Conservationist of the Year in 2008. Other members of the committee are Schuyler Benson, Ron Flohr, Al Gipe, Tracie Lahman, and Sandy Wrightson.
