FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE -- BOSTON
ROBERT KLEIN GALLERY AND ARS LIBRI EXHIBIT
PHOTOGRAPHS BY REBECCA NORRIS WEBB
The ROBERT KLEIN GALLERY and ARS LIBRI, LTD., are honored to present the intimate and lyrical landscapes of REBECCA NORRIS WEBB. The exhibition, Rebecca Norris Webb: My Dakota, will open at Ars Libri on Friday, October 5, as part of the South End's First Friday. The installation will feature photographs from My Dakota (Radius Books), Norris Webb's 2012 monograph. A poet by training and a photographer by trade, Norris Webb returned home to South Dakota in 2005 to make pictures. Norris Webb was initially spurred by a longing for open space and the distinctive geography of the American West. A year into the project, however, her brother unexpectedly passed away. My Dakota became an exploration of loss and landscape, what Norris Webb calls, "grief's expansiveness -- the prairie unfolding in me."An opening reception for Rebecca Norris Webb: My Dakota at Ars Libri will be held on Friday, October 5, from 5:30 to 7:30 PM. The general public is welcome; light refreshments will be served.
Norris Webb and Webb will give a free public slide talk on Friday, October 12, from 7 to 8:30 PM at the GRAND CIRCLE GALLERY in Boston's Fort Point. The Webbs will also give a free gallery talk at Ars Libri on Saturday, October 13, from 4 to 5 PM.
