This S.E.T. campaign is part of a larger EIC initiative, in collaboration with The Boeing Company, to promote these career areas. The program provides the entertainment industry with free access to experts in the fields of science, engineering, and technology to utilize as resources for scriptwriting and character design. "If we don't show young people how exiting and rewarding careers in these fields can be," said EIC President and CEO Brian Dyak, "we will lose a generation of great minds and thinkers, causing jobs in these fields to go elsewhere, making our country less competitive in the global economy"
This program recognizes the creative community for their efforts in promoting these disciplines through the newly launched S.E.T. Awards, and rewards college students in a short film contest focusing on the S.E.T. issues.
