ABOUT NATIONAL S.E.T ADVISORY COMMITTEE:
EIC's Entertainment and Media Communication Institute has assembled a National S.E.T. Advisory Committee of experts from multidisciplinary fields representing engineering, entertainment, science, technology, communications, medicine, and education. PURPOSE: The National S.E.T. Advisory Committee, by working with the entertainment and news media, will elevate the importance of science, engineering and technology as related to education, skills development, future U.S. workforce, and securing global competitiveness. |

| Elizabeth Bandy has over ten years of
experience with research and teaching in youth and media. Currently, Elizabeth
conducts research and evaluation projects related to technology and digital
media education as an independent research consultant. Working with Rockman et
al, a research and evaluation firm in San Francisco, Elizabeth conducts
evaluations of KQED Public Media's QUEST science and technology programming and
education initiatives, the Advanced Digital Pathways program at the Bay Area Video
Coalition, and WWW.2 A Wide Web
of Women, an initiative that encourages girls and young women to pursue
technology careers. Elizabeth also teaches media courses at San Francisco State
University and the University of San Francisco. Elizabeth has a B.S. in
Communication from Miami University, an M.A. in Communication Technology and
Policy from UT Austin, and a Ph.D. in Children, Adolescents and Media from
Stanford University. When not indulging in sci-fi/fantasy television fandom,
Elizabeth can be found enjoying the sunshine with her feet
in the grass.

| Jim is president of the International 3D Society, an organization that supports and advances the work of those contributing to the growth of Stereoscopic 3D. Previously, Jim served as the President of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, home of the prime time Emmy Awards, the President of Promax/BDA, the Head of Promotions for E! Entertainment Television and the Head of West Coast Marketing for CBS. He is currently on the Board of Directors at the Geffen Playhouse in Los Angeles. Jim has produced or hosted over 100 events in the past seven years in locales ranging from Moscow to Mumbai and in 2005, led the first marketing conference for television professionals in China.

| Robert Cornet is a senior communications strategist, educator and consultant with 25 years of experience. He has been the principal in Cornet Communications
Counsel as well as the Director of Communications at Towers Perrin, an Associate Professor of Business and the Managing Director of the Academy for Corporate Governance at Fordham University
and Vice President for Corporate Affairs at NBC amongst other jobs. Dr. Cornet holds a Ph.D. in English from the Pennsylvania State University and BA
and MA degrees from Florida State University.

Larry is responsible for developing and
marketing materials and services to members of the entertainment industry to
engage them in the accurate and responsible depiction of health and social
issues in TV, movies, DVDs, animation
and comic books. Larry is the producer/writer/executive producer of EIC's PRISM Awards television special.
He is a member of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, Hollywood
Radio & Television Society, National Association of Television Program
Executives, Entertainment Publicists Professional Society and serves as
a jurist for the Emmy Awards. Larry holds a BS in English and Communications with
a specialization in film from Rutgers University and an MBA in Marketing from
California Lutheran University. He has been with EIC since 1986.

Brian Dyak is the President and CEO of Entertainment Industries Council , Inc. He is a pioneer of edutainment and depiction of health and social issues, as well as a nationally recognized impresario of social marketing and communication strategies. He has successfully constructed a bridge between the entertainment industry and health and social policy issues for the past 27 years. He is an award-winning creator
of the PRISM Awards television special. PRISM airs on the flagship FX
Networks and was simulcast in September 2009 on eight cable networks
to support mental health and substance abuse issues within the national
media space.
Brian holds B.A. degrees in Education and Social, Human, and Behavior Sciences from the University of South Florida.

| Robert Dowling is the former Editor-in-Chief and Publisher of The Hollywood Reporter,
the entertainment industry's daily trade publication. In 2005, he
formed his own consulting firm, The Bob Dowling Group, which
specializes in helping clients wishing to converge technology and
entertainment. Mr. Dowling is also the former executive vice-president
of VNU, the world's largest network of entertainment-related
publications and services.
Mr. Dowling is widely regarded as one of the most influential persons in Hollywood today.

Phyllis H. Hillwig, Ed.D.

Phyllis is
co-owner of Words & Numbers, one of the largest content development
services companies in the educational publishing space. As Chief
Operating Officer for Words & Numbers, Phyllis has been sought for
her thought leadership in the content development arena. Phyllis
has experience with STEM initiatives at a variety of levels. She has
served as Vice President of Educational Outreach for the STEM Workforce
Division of NDIA (National Defense Industry Association) and has
presented on curricular disconnects between research-based outreach and
practical classroom activities to members of the Department of Homeland
Security University Programs.
Phyllis has attended several STEM-based
forums for her input on creating instructional materials in the field
of science and mathematics, including the STEM-Education Coalition, the
STEM Research and Modeling Network (with Raytheon), the Department of
Homeland Security University Network Summit, the National Defense
Industrial Association, and a science teachers' summit sponsored by
Laureate Education.

Bob Hively is the owner and CEO of Scenewise, Inc., a developer of digital interactive educational projects. Such projects include educationally enhanced feature films, interactive video systems and DVD-based video games. Mr. Hively was formerly the CEO of ScopeSeven, media design and production company focused on providing creative and technical services to movie studios. He received his BA in Business from Washington State University and his MBA from Indiana University.

Dr. Jemison's remarkable life, in addition to being a doctor, engineer, scientist, academic, entrepreneur, and public intellectual includes six years with NASA as an astronaut during which she became the first woman of color in the world to go into space and served on the human research protocol board, testing the software that operates the shuttle and flew aboard the Space Shuttle Endeavor Spacelab Japan mission-the first joint mission with the Japanese Space Agency. Jemison resigned from NASA in 1993 and founded The Jemison Group, Inc., a technology and consulting firm to consider socio-cultural impacts when designing technologies. In her free time, Jemison is an expert in sewing and designing clothes and grills a great barbeque.

L. Kreps (Ph.D., U of Southern California, 1979) holds the Eileen and
Steve Mandell Endowed Chair in Health Communication at George Mason U,
where he is Professor & Chair of the Dept of
Communication, and directs the Center for Health & Risk
Communication. Gary's research examines health communication/promotion,
multicultural relations, social organization, & applied research
methods.
He publishes widely (more than 300 articles, books, and monographs) concerning the applications of communication knowledge to address important social issues. His
research is funded by NIH, NSF, CDC, HRSA, USDE, RWJF, the Kaiser
Family Foundation, and several major health service corporations.

Kuglin is known as a technology pioneer and a revolutionary leader in
K-16 education. He has been featured on CNN for his innovative uses
of technology in the classroom, has testified before the US Senate on
classroom technologies, and served as consultant and on-air host for a
10 part technology series on the Learning Channel. John
was identified as one of the Top 25 Education Technology Advocates in
the United States by District Administrator magazine, as well as
awarded a Power Teacher designation - one of only ten such designations in the country - by USA Today. He is a nationally acclaimed keynote speaker addressing the nation's largest technology conferences.

Rich Moore, president of Rich Moore, Inc., an independent
consulting practice, has a career of experience in marketing and international
expansion, particularly with emerging-growth technology companies. This has
included the repackaging and repositioning of products and companies with a
clearer value proposition, improving marketing program mix and expanding
channels of distribution that can accelerate sales. Rich Moore serves on the
board of directors and audit committee for Vocus, a public company (Nasdaq:
VOCS) offering on demand software for public relations management, as well as
board affiliation with Noxilizer, a bio-tech company and Inserso, a provider of
web application development.

Saul Rockman is president of Rockman et al, an independent
evaluation, research, and consulting firm focusing on studies of education,
technology, and media. Rockman works with preschool, K-12, postsecondary and
adult educational institutions in formal education, as well as with broadly
educational projects having a wide community or consumer audience. Saul Rockman
established Rockman et al in 1990 after leaving the education marketing group
of Apple Computer where he was manager of education research. While at Apple,
Rockman disseminated research findings on the impact of computers for learning
and managed a large-scale effects study. He helped Apple establish partnerships
with educational organizations for national technology policy development.
Prior to joining Apple, Rockman was director of technology programs at WestEd
in San Francisco, California.

Mark Roth is a
Senior Staff Writer for the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. He was formerly the newspaper's first full-time science
editor and created the weekly Science section. Since returning full-time to writing, he has continued to
focus on health and science issues.
For the past for years, Roth has written a monthly series called "The
Thinkers," featuring interesting researchers and community workers in the
Pittsburgh region. He also writes
the paper's online blog "That's Fascinating," which provides readers one new, provocative
idea per day to think about and react to.
In 2005, Roth was awarded a German Marshall Fund journalism fellowship to
cover the German national elections and in June 2008, he was an invited
participant in a Knight Science Journalism workshop on brain science at
MIT. Roth graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor's of
Science in Journalism from Ohio University. In his "free time" Roth serves as a Presbyterian elder and
teaches a science-writing course to Carnegie Mellon University undergraduate
and graduate students.

Katherine E. Rowan, Ph.D.

Katherine E. Rowan (Ph.D., Purdue University, 1985) is
Professor of Communication at George Mason University in Fairfax,
Virginia. Her research on science,
risk, and crisis communication has appeared in Health Communication, Risk Analysis, Communication Education, and Journal of Applied Communication Research
and in books such as the Handbook of Risk
and Crisis Communication, Communicating Uncertainty, and the Handbook of Communication and Social
Interaction Skills.

Steve Schiffman is the Acting General Manager
of the National Geographic Channel.
He is actively involved with the Cable & Telecommunications Association for
Marketing. Mr. Schiffman formerly led successful marketing initiatives at
The Weather Channel, NASCAR and Kraft and has inaugurated partnerships with
Nickelodeon, Microsoft, Scholastic and Fox Cable Networks.

Elane V. Scott is CEO and
Chief Connectivity Officer (CCO) of Birth2Work, a consulting and training
company with a proven process for developing capable people for the future workforce. As CEO of Birth2Work, Elane draws from
more than 25 years as an education
consultant and workforce strategist for Fortune 500 companies, small businesses, government organizations,
professional associations, educational institutions, and civic groups.
Elane is recognized as an expert on parenting and education issues. She
served twice as a United States Presidential campaign consultant on childcare.

William B. Scott is a former Rocky Mountain Bureau Chief for Aviation Week & Space Technology magazine.
During his 22 years with the publication, he also served as Senior National
Editor, Avionics Editor and Senior Engineering Editor. He is a co-author of three
books: Counterspace: The Next Hours of
World War III; Space Wars: The First
Six Hours of World War III, and Inside
the Stealth Bomber: The B-2 Story. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in
Electrical Engineering from California State University-Sacramento, and is a
graduate of the U.S. Air Force Test Pilot School. In 12 years of military and
civilian flight testing, plus evaluating aircraft for Aviation Week, he has logged approximately 2,000 flight hours on 80
aircraft types.

Richard (Rick) Stephens is Senior Vice
President, Human Resources and Administration for The Boeing Company. Stephens,
a 30-year Boeing veteran, also is a member of the Boeing Executive Council.
Prior to this assignment, Stephens, 57, served as senior vice president of
Internal Services. During his career he has lead a number of businesses
including Homeland Security and Services, Space Shuttle and Tactical Combat
Systems at sites across the U.S. and around the world. Stephens serves on a
number of non-profit and business focused boards and has been recognized for
his long-standing leadership to local and national organizations. Passionate
about improving education both inside and outside of the classroom, he works
directly with community leaders to agree on common language, shared values,
vision, and measures of success.

Mr. Swallow is vice
president, Business Development for the Civil Systems Division of Northrop
Grumman's Information Systems sector, responsible for division-wide business
development, profitable business growth and maintaining strong customer
relationships. Mr. Swallow holds a bachelor's degree in physics and astronomy
from SUNY College, a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Syracuse
University, and a master's degree in systems management from the University of
Southern California. Mr. Swallow is a retired Air Force Reserve officer, and he
currently serves as chairman of the board of the National Defense Industrial
Association's (NDIA) Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM)
Workforce division. He has also served as chairman of NDIA's Space division,
and he is a director of the National Guard Youth Foundation and the Society Of
Manufacturing Engineers Education Foundation.

 Danielle Vardaro is a Production Support Engineer for Boeing in Seattle, Washington, and works with 747/767/777 airplanes on the flightline. She received her Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering from Tufts University where she began her involvement with the Nerd Girls group of female engineers. Danielle currently serves as the President for the Society of Women Engineers Pacific Northwest professional section, and is pursuing a Masters in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Washington while working for Boeing full-time. She is intent on sharing her positive experiences with female peers. |

Julie Zingerman does the development, coordination and negotiation
of $100 million in Quality and System Safety design changes to the
International Space Station. She is the author of International Space Station Hardware Book which highlights
critical data on all elements of the billion dollar project that linked 16 countries
together. She also does petitioning of the US Congress and House of
Representatives members in Washington DC to solidify funding for human space
flight exploration. She led the Space
Shuttle Main Engine Re-invention team which captured knowledge from key team
members in preparation for shuttle retirement. Julie also manages the Space
Flight Awareness Program including coordination and handling of astronauts
during supplier visits, launch activities and award presentations.
