ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRIES COUNCIL ANNOUNCES NOMINEES FOR 14th ANNUAL PRISM AWARDS

LOS ANGELES, CA - How I Met Your Mother, Grey's Anatomy, Breaking Bad, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, and the films Crazy Heart and The Soloist are among the productions receiving nods for the 14th Annual PRISM Awards. The PRISM Awards, which is produced by the Entertainment Industries Council, Inc. (EIC) in collaboration with the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) and FX, honor actors, movies, music, media and television's top shows that accurately depict and bring attention to substance abuse and mental health issues. This year's ceremony, which is set for April 22, 2010, will take place at the Beverly Hills Hotel.

"All one has to do is watch the evening news to see how tough times are affecting the American psyche," said EIC President and CEO Brian Dyak.  "Increased risk of substance abuse and mental health concerns is a reality which dictates that we as an industry must rise to the call to be an industry of character and respect for our viewers. PRISM faces those realities and puts forth hope - the exact optimism we all need right now."

John Landgraf, President & General Manager of FX and Chairman of the PRISM Awards Honorary Committee, said "This year's nominees are a remarkable mix of popular entertainment that also have a message. Our industry is to be commended for making accurate portrayals a vital part of the creative process."
