Hello Friends! I hope you are well and happy. I have some urgent astrological news for you with this newsletter. The Summer of 2010 has some important astrological landmarks. For starters, on MAY 27, 2010 we have an astrological holiday (of sorts) Yes, the 'big-doings' in astrology right now center around the movement of the planet Uranus into the sign of Aries on May 27, 2010 - the same day as the Full Moon in Sagittarius. This is a big deal. It is the beginning of a march toward more 'big doings' in August concerning the formation of a Cross in the sky. See below for more information on Jupiter into Aries.  IN JULY: Alert! Alert! Total Solar Eclipse! Total Solar Eclipse! Total Solar Eclipse! Need I say more? Well, adding a TSE to the mix of this summer's powder-keg energies makes our times that much more ... interesting ... if you know what I mean. I will be offering more information on the eclipse in forthcoming newsletters, so stay tuned. IN AUGUST: As if all of that weren't enough, the planet Uranus - newly minted and rip-roaring forward in the sign of Aries - is then going to form a Cross in the sky with three other potently placed planets in the most powerful points of the zodiac (Mars and Saturn in Libra, Jupiter and Uranus in Aries, Pluto in Capricorn, North Node by wide orb in Cancer). By August, we will have such a turbo-boosted, nearly-impossible-to-contain energy on our hands that we will wonder what happened. (One of those "WHA??" moments) The in-rush could make your head spin. (Oh and P.S. it has already started. You may know what I am talking about if you are one of those who is feeling the PRE-shocks of this energy shift) This Cross is called the Cardinal Cross (or the Cardinal Climax by some). Over the next few months I will offer information concerning this very important energy signature which marks a fierce opening gate to our tumultuous entry into the 21st century.

On May 27, 2010 at 9:48pm EDT the planet Uranus will enter the sign of Aries. Ta-da! (Insert trumpet flourish here.)  NOTE: The Full Moon in Sagittarius (Sun in Gemini) occurs on May 27, 2010 at 7:07pm - about 3 hours before Uranus enters Aries. Although much more could be said about this, in the interest of space, we can simply say that the characteristic Full Moon energies: illumination, fruition, culmination of seeds planted, lunacy, intensity, emotional energies running high... all of these add a background noise to the triumphant entry of Uranus into Aries. The Full Moon reaches it's peak in the sky, ushering in a pure burst of electric, fiery energy. Also, Sagittarius is a Fire sign, just as Aries is. So the Baptism by Fire is Hot on this auspicious occasion of a new 7-year cycle. NOTE: Another addition to this change: the planet Jupiter will be joining Uranus in Aries nine days later, which simply means that whatever happens will be BIG. Jupiter expands everything it touches - for better or worse. Breakthroughs will be huge, revolutionary, action-packed. Earthquakes on all levels predominate. |
Historic Markers of Uranus into Aries

Uranus changes signs every 7 years; and as it shifts signs it adds color to the prevailing zeitgeist of the time. I remember as a child, my mother (who was very superstitious) told me that if you break a mirror, you will have 7 years of bad luck. And we also know that every 7 years the physical cells of our body die and are replaced by new cells. So when Uranus changes signs, symbolically we have a chance to renew, to slough off old ways of being (literally on a cellular level), and maybe even break a spell of bad luck :)
Uranus has an 84 year cycle through the 12 zodiac signs. The last time that Uranus was in Aries was in 1927. Uranus' entry into Aries in 2010 triggers the Cardinal Climax and is even more intense than what we had in 1927. That's because we have the addition of Mars in the picture and three of the five planets are at 0 degrees cardinal signs, the most potent and powerful positions in the entire zodiac.
 What was happening in 1927? The general theme of that time was the development of motorized vehicles, which created a revolutionary leap into modern times (Uranus) concerning how people MOVE (Aries). Some other examples of big changes in how we move in 1927: The Holland Tunnel under the Hudson River opened on November 13th connecting New York City with Jersey; Charles Lindbergh flew The Spirit of St. Louis across the Atlantic nonstop and solo, direct from New York City to Paris, in the first solo transatlantic flight.
NOTE: in 1843, the time previous to 1927 when Uranus was in Aries, the first major wagon train heading for the Northwest set out with one thousand pioneers from Elm Grove, Missouri on the Oregon Trail.
Throw in the futuristic nature of the 21st century (and the Aquarian Age) and you get things like "Beam me up Scotty" instead of wagon trails. One small step 10 feet over, one giant leap into new ways of moving forward.
In addition, as you well know, within 2 years (i.e. in 1929) of Uranus going into Aries we had the massive stock-market crash which ushered in the Great Depression. In our current economic climate, it does make one wonder. Indeed, we will be under severe stress this year from the most dynamic and tension-producing cycles we have seen since the Great Depression

The Change from Pisces to Aries

Uranus has been in Pisces since 2003. This was a very different energy from what we are now plunging into. I have written much on the 'feel' of Uranus in Pisces (go to one of my past newsletters here: http://conta.cc/9NtwBM and scroll down the section entitled "The Highest Possible Outcome: Cultivating an Eel-ectric Underwater Experience"  The way Uranus in Pisces 'felt' was like lightning hitting water and dispersing an electrical charge into the realm of feelings, spirituality, mystical downloads and etc. Uranus' shocking energy was submerged in the ocean of Pisces. It still packed a punch of course, as water conducts electricity and the combination will surely fry you. But it is very different from the fire of electricity (Uranus) meeting the bursting fire of ignition (Aries).
Imagine lighting a fire on your grill in your back-yard - and then lightning hits it. The explosion would be massive. Think of an earthquake. When an earthquake happens, fires break out. Motion can be crushed. Emergency action is required.
With Uranus in Pisces since 2003, your brain and electro-physical-neuro systems probably got fried (think back on the past 7 years...) The ultimate goal of Uranus in Pisces was to 'fry' our emotional circuits and spiritual practices to the point of overload so that we could be re-wired. Indeed, we have taken on profound new levels of spiritual capacity in that time. We literally learned to hold a charge, like an eel in the ocean of consciousness. Coincident with that, however, we also might have felt like our desire to make changes in our lives was watered down, fizzled.
Well those days are over. First of all Uranus in Aries doesn't reserve itself to only the emotional circuits. This kind of energy could cause you to, well, burst into flames. It's a total body experience, as it were. The alchemy is more violent, instant and severe. The results are shocking and happen so quickly you are bewildered. Spontaneous Combustion.
This is quite a powerful spiritual reality. Our personal (and collective!) dross can now be burned off in a heartbeat, with the form changing radically. If we have dross we have been trying to clear and which even metaphorical electrocution (Uranus in Pisces) didn't not burn off, well it will go bye-bye now. And you won't see it coming.

Here's the good news: The impetus to change will have substantial fuel behind it. Here's the bad news: The impetus to change will have substantial fuel behind it. In other words, not only can we make huge strides in our goals and in blazing a trail, we also will be prone to make rash decisions. This is the pitfall. How do we handle the primordial fire? Will it burn us? Or can we harness it? If it burns us to ashes, what will we do with them? Life continues. Form never dies, it only transforms.
Over the next 7 years we will learn to play with incorrigible fire. Holding a charge was a pre-requisite for this new lesson. We will get burned and then we will carry more light, heat, and juice which will blaze a path of change into the future.
Uranus in Aries has such amazing potential for brain-storms! You will be knocked off your socks, baby! We will have the ability download incredible breakthrough information and inspiration while in a cauldron of purification fire. But what's new here is that we will also have the ability to TAKE ACTION on it. No more out to sea.
The Horrific Oil Spill still spewing off the Gulf Coast could be related to the last movements of Uranus in Pisces. As Uranus has been plowing through the last degree of the sign of the ocean (Pisces), the sea blew a gasket (Uranus). You better believe this will create change (Uranus now moving into Aries). As a last hurrah, Uranus helped Neptune (Pisces' go-to guy) to release the Kracken - catalyzing a focus for the new Aries expression.

Aries holds the vibe of: War, Pioneering energy, Blind Action, look-before-you-leap, the Mother Bear who kills for her cubs, activists who defend those who cannot defend themselves - sometimes doing so violently, Fierceness, the Blue-painted Celtic warriors in the Mel Gibson movie 'Braveheart', the Scalping done by Native American warriors, the goddesses Sekhmet and Boudaccia, Impulsivenss, sports, gladiators, cardio-vascular health, competition  Uranus holds the vibe of: Revolution, Shocking, Sudden, Breakthrough, keen awareness, progressive, innovative, unique, radical change, Traumatic, Artificial Intelligence, technology, extra-terrestrial energies (anything 'not of this earth'), rebelliousness, anarchy, the upper chakras (27 chakras above the head), alternate realities, parallel universes, time travel, traveling to other dimensions, string theory but WAY beyond - i.e. any kind of leading-edge unknown science or technology which bursts on the scene and changes the game forever, ideas which are vehemently opposed.
Uranus can be brilliant; AND Uranus can be stark-raving crazy. No matter, Uranus is never, ever unseen, unheard, taken-for-granted or ignored. You WILL know it is there. If someone burns down a building - hard to ignore. If someone says: "the world is NOT flat" you will listen. If someone sets the slaves free (Lincoln, an Aquarius) you will take note. You probably won't like the change Uranus brings (because it turns your familiar world upside down) but it's job is to push Humanity forward in progressive leaps of evolution.
Uranus says: The revolution will not be televised. I will sneak up on you. I will flatten your well-crafted corrupt hierarchies which enslave people. I am a unique individual and I will proclaim and live my manifesto until everything is changed. I won't waste time. It will happen while you are sleeping. Wake Up! Democracy NOW! I am ready, willing and able to fight for change.
 You WILL know Aries is there as well. The two-year old of the zodiac, Aries WILL have its way. Aries says (sometimes throwing a tantrum) "What's in it for me?? NO! I want, I want! This is what I Want! I will climb the mountain because it is there! Get out of my way! I will compete and I will WIN." Aries seizes life, alive and screaming I AM, I AM! I AM! I Am That I Am. A sheer declaration of existence.
Aries takes a bite out of life. Think of that scene in the movie "Avatar" where the lead character finds himself alighting in his new avatar (his new physical vehicle) and jumps up off the table, running and leaping and feeling the energy of having a body and BEING ALIVE. Aries lives! Reckless like the Ram (its symbol) it sure is. But this lifeforce energy is necessary for anything to exist. The Big Bang comes before the chicken or the egg. Pisces has no self. Aries is pure self, unabashed, vivivied, on fire with the sheer force of existence. We are not merging in with the Godhead here (that's a Pisces thing). Instead we are the pure expression of the Godhead on the cutting-edge of existence.
Aries says: " I will defend my territory to the death, till I see the whites of your eyeballs. Go ahead, make my day, pity the fool." Injustices MUST be righted.
The oil spill at the end of Uranus in Pisces now positions us to take swift and terrible action of reform to prevent the helpless from being violated in this way ever again. The anger (Aries) is palpable. The cries for change (Uranus) are ubiquitous and huge (Jupiter).
Uranus and Aries look at each other and say: It's time for the Revolutionary (Uranus) War (Aries) Stand back.

The manifestation of Uranus in Aries (like every other external influence) takes shape in our lives depending on how we give it form through our awareness and intent. The way it will manifest is affected by our spiritual strength/ability to contain it, and our development of higher-consciousness levels, as well as our discipline in expressing pure feelings and thoughts. If we are aligned in these ways, what shows up in our lives (and in the collective) will be sublime rather than profane. ON ANOTHER LEVEL: HEAD'S UP: People around you (as well as YOU) may be impulsive, erratic, quick-to-anger. This is not a slow-boil anger, but bursts of violent expression. Changes could be sudden - lightning-bolt, split-second flash-reversals. A flash-mob.
Rubber hits road. All the years of learning/using spiritual practices - such as meditation, prayer, breathing, yoga, grounding - must be implemented now if we are to maintain our equilibrium. This goes without saying, really, and not only applies to this summer. It's only going to heat up further from here. Spiritual practice is necessary for survival.
Focusing on NOW, please note that we are this summer we are entering the 2012-crucible of change that the Mayans and so many others predicted. This portal extends from 2010 through 2013.
Remember that this change is not assigned to one specific date (12-21-12) but is a several-year portal. Think back to the Y2K frenzy. Everyone thought that January 1, 1999 would be the moment in time of a kind of apocalyptic change. Instead it was spaced out over a portal from 1999 - 2001 - with the actual 'event' occurring on September 11, 2001. This is not a sprint, preparing for one day of Olympic competition; it is a marathon, preparing for the long-haul and the potential for obstacles anywhere along the path.
A vital and basic ingredient to help us seize these energies in constructive (not destructive) ways to serve humanity is to constantly, constantly continue to raise our consciousness to higher and higher levels. Higher levels of consciousness in even a small group of people will help mitigate any potential calamities. Higher levels of consciousness can be gained through meditation, prayer, yoga, drumming, chanting, alternative health modalities for healing and release. In other words, through a conscious spiritual path.
But truly, even if you don't meditate or have a daily spiritual practice (which you BETTER, you BETTER) the simple, day-to-day emanation of love, compassion and kindness is the elixir of transmutation for all that threatens to destroy us. Practice compassion. Practice compassion. If you do nothing else, practice compassion.
Humanity is on a learning curve concerning compassion - it is not the current default setting for us. Keep going back to the drawing board with it, day after day after day, moment after moment after moment. Even if you have a slip -- in the next moment come back to compassion -- for others AND for your yourself.
Cardio exercise will also help now. Energy must be discharged in healthy ways. Get a punching bag if you must. I have experienced this energy over the past week or so, and it is formidable. It literally blew me back. I was not prepared. I was blind-sighted. You have to think and act quickly in the moment with compassion and restraint. It's not easy to do. Prepare, practice, love. Prepare, practice, love.
